OFFICIAL GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF FULL PAPER SUBMISSION for FLUCOME 2009

Sergey Leonov[1] and Victor Golub[2]

ABSTRACT

This document describes the format instructions for papers for the FLUCOME 2009. It is our goal to be relatively flexible in the format, yet maintain a reasonable degree of consistency between papers in the finished product. This MICROSOFT WORD template file contains all of the necessary formatting in the styles pull-down menus. If you don’t see the styles in a pull-down menu, select View>Toolbars>Formatting.

INTRODUCTION

The papers for the FLUCOME 2009 should be submitted in PDF format with fonts embedded via the conference website at http://www.ihed.ras.ru/flucome10. This document describes, and is formatted in, the desired format for the conference papers. To use this template file simply cut and paste into this template. The formatting styles (in the styles pull-down menu) are given self-explanatory names, and it is suggested you use them (another way to access styles is to select Format>Styles, then under “List:” in the lower left, select “User-defined styles”).

Format Requirements

The general format requirements are as follows:

·  Paper Length: 4-12 pages (A4 size paper, 210 x 297 mm).

·  Margins: 25 mm top and bottom; 25 mm on left and right.

·  Title: [style Title_Paper] 14 pt bold Times, centered, full caps.

·  Authors/Affiliation/E-mails: Provide the authors’ names [style Authors] and refer to their affiliations and address using a footnote [style Footnotes]. Indicate the corresponding author.

·  Abstract Header: [style Abstract_Heading] 10 pt bold Helvetica.

·  Abstract: [style abstract_text] A 100-200 word abstract in 10 pt Times, 13 pt spacing, justified on both margins.

·  Section Headings: [style Section] 11 pt bold Helvetica.

·  Subsection Headings: [style Subsection] 11 pt bold Times.

·  Subsubsection Headings: [style Subsubsection] 11 pt italic Times.

·  Body text: [style Standard] 11 pt Times, 13 pt spacing, justified on both margins, no blank line between paragraphs, indentation for beginning of a paragraph.

·  Figures: [style Figure] Insert in text where appropriate, with 11 pt Helvetica centered below the figure as shown in the example below.

·  Tables: [style Table Caption] As with Figures, but with caption centered above the table.

·  Equations: [style Equation] Centered, with equation number at the right, one blank line below.

·  Units: SI units are preferred.

·  References: [style References] References should appear at the end of the paper as shown below. Citations in the text of the paper should use author last names and the year; for example, “… in previous work by the authors (Smyth & Masri, 2002; Kirkner and Spencer, 1996)” or “… as shown in the work by Kareem et al. (1998) and Haldar and Mahadevan (2000).”

·  Blank lines, other than mentioned above, are discouraged. You may add ONE blank line at any point in the document where you feel it will improve the result. DO take note of page breaks, and adjust where necessary to avoid poor placement of page breaks.

If something is not explicitly covered in this list, do what seems to best fit the character of these format guidelines; our primary goal is consistency.

Additionally, authors are responsible for obtaining permission for reprinting any material included in their papers that is already copyrighted elsewhere.

(1)

An example of an equation is shown in Eq. (1) above. Figure and table examples are given in Fig. 1 and Table 1.

Fig. 1. An example figure

Table 1. An example table

Some Numbers / Some more numbers
1234 / 56789
5678 / 9101112
1234 / 4321

A bulleted list, using style “Bulleted,” should have the following suggested spacing:

·  Do not skip a line before making a bulleted list.

·  After the last bullet skip a line.

A numbered list should follow the same basic spacing rules as the bulleted list. Style “Numbered List” achieves the desired effect.

1.  this is the first list item

2.  this is the second list item
