ESSEX ABROAD: ACCEPTANCE (STUDY)

In order to confirm acceptance of your allocation, please read the following information carefully.
STUDY: (please initial or tick in the box to confirm that you have read and understood the information)

You are required to take a full study load at your host university, equal to that of a full- time, degree-seeking, local student. It is not permissible to take additional modules at Essex in your final year to make up credits.
You are required to pass a full credit load to pass the year abroad, if you fail 1 or more modules then you will fail the year abroad.
Courses taken on a pass/fail basis will not be converted and which will result in a failed module and you will fail the year abroad.
You are required to pass the year abroad with an average converted mark of more than 20%. Failure to achieve this will result in you being withdrawn from the university.
If you fail the year abroad with an average converted mark of between 20% and 40% then you will be transferred to a 3 year degree equivalent.

You are responsible for requesting the issuance of the transcript at the completion of the study abroad period.
You will be required toreturn any grant or scholarship awarded and cover any tuition fee subsidiesif
a) You subsequently change to an Essex degree course (after your period abroad) that does not count the period of study abroad towards your degree classification, or
b) You withdraw / intermit from the study abroad period at any stage.

I understand that if I have committed any academic or disciplinary offences I may be unable to study abroad.

I understand that if I have any criminal convictions / police record this may prevent me from receiving a student visa.
I understand that I must complete the formal application process with the host university before my place can be fully confirmed.
I understand that I am required to adhere to all of the requirements and regulations of my allocated host university.
I understand that if I do not receive approval to progress to the next year of study any pre-expended costs will not be recoverable from the University of Essex.
I understand that if I fail my study abroad period, I may fail my Essex degree.
I confirm that I have discussed my host University choices and available modules with my departmental study abroad officer.
I understand that whilst on my year abroad I represent the University of Essex and agree to abide by both the University of Essex and Host university student code of conduct.
