The AustralianCollege of Sport & Fitness provides dynamic training and qualifications to launch a career in the Australian fitness industry. Students can start working in the fitness industry in just 6 months with completion of the Certificate III in Fitness. Advanced fitness programs included the Diploma of Fitness and Diploma of Sport & Recreation Management. Students are also able to choose to study any fitness qualification at our 3 campus locations for the ultimate Australian experience.

Qualifications Available

Fitness courses can be combined into packs of 2 or more for a course duration of up to 3 years.

Pre-requisites exist for the Certificate IV in Fitness and the Diploma of Fitness.

  1. About the Certificate III in Fitness (Fitness Instructor)

This qualification equips students to become an exercise instructor for gym or group exercise. It provides them with the skills and knowledge to be competent in a range of activities and functions in a exercise instructor role. Students may find themselves in a role at a gym, fitness centre, pools, community facilities and in outdoor environments. Take a look at the topics covered in the Certificate III in Fitness:

  1. About the Certificate IV in Fitness (Personal Trainer)

This qualification equips students to become a personal trainer. It provides them with the skills and knowledge to train individual clients on a one-on-one basis. Clients can also include older adults and children. Persons with this level of qualification will have the ability to plan, conduct and evaluate exercise training, provide leadership and guidance to clients and other staff and manage business activities.   1. About the Diploma in Fitness (Specialised Exercise Trainer)

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge to provide exercise training to individual clients with specific needs, on a one-on-one or group basis, and may include older clients and children with chronic conditions.

Persons with this level of competency will have the ability to implement, evaluate and modify the exercise prescription provided by medical or allied health professionals for clients with specific conditions, within an agreed scope for progression as recommended by referring medical or allied health professionals.

Specialised exercise trainers will have the ability to monitor client progress and, in collaboration with medical or allied health professionals, utilise an evidence-based approach to deliver solutions by applying knowledge of physiology and anatomy and the pathology of specific medical conditions.

  1. About the Diploma of Sport & Recreation Management (Facility/Administration Manager)

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual wishing to work in the sport and recreation industry in an administrative or organisational capacity in locations such as fitness centres, outdoor sporting grounds or complexes or aquatic centres.

Persons with this level of competency would manage the ancillary functions required to ensure the effective provision of specific services and programs and have a high degree of autonomy.
