Monday---Unit 19 Lesson 3

Students will read and spell words with er, ir, and ur.

Students will sound out ir words on page 19-25.

Students will read sentences with ir words on page 19-25.

Students will sound out ur words on page 19-27.

Students will read sentences with ur words on page 19-27.

Students will watch starfall.com to learn bossy r words and sentences while coming up to white board and participate in activity.

Tuesday---Lesson 4

Skill: red words---come, some

Teacher will display come and some and ask the students how are these words alike?

They are both red words and they both end in –ome.

Teacher spells the word come and tells that the word means to go with someone.

Teacher provides an example sentence for meaning---Come with me to the circus.

Teacher spells the word some and tells that the word means to select.

Teacher provides an example sentence for meaning---Some of the cookies are chocolate chip.

Students will tap out letter names on arm and sweep down the arm while saying the word.

Students will write the letters for the words some and come on paper three times.

Students will write the following sentences: Did your dog come with you? The cats had some milk.

Wednesday---Lesson 5

Skill: or

Students will read and spell words with or.

Display the bossy r picture from teacher book page 19-3.

Ask students what do you know about the bossy r?

Students know the bossy r controls the vowel sound. The bossy r is polite. It lets the vowel be first.

Teacher displays the or and says the sound /or/. You hear it in the word horn.

Students will skywrite the or and make the /or/ sound.

Students will use memory box skills to practice the letters and the sound /or/.

Students will read or words and sentences from page 19-35.

Students will practice spelling words with or by using spell tabs. Teacher will dictate the following words for students to spell and write on paper: for, sport, or, north, storm, born.

Students will listen to the teacher read sentences and write the following sentences on paper: The bag of corn is for the birds. The storm had strong winds.

Teacher will flash all the r control vowels for automatic recall.

Oral Reading---BK Story: Storks

Students will take a quiz on the story Junk

Students will read the Jewel Box-Treasure Chest Sheet page 19-37.

Teacher will review Unit 19 with students making out a study guide.
