Students Will Learn and Understand the Celebration of Feliz Navidad

“Feliz Navidad”

Objective/Purpose of activity:

Students will learn and understand the celebration of Feliz Navidad.

Procedure:

Cut a large bird or animal shape from stiff poster board for the Piñata. Cover with pieces of colorful tissue-paper squares and streamers. Pin it to the board with the heading “Feliz Navidad!” Post students’ stories about “Las Posadas” around the Piñata. You might like to save the piñata for future use during Cinco de Mayo or Mexico Independence day.

Piñata

Writing paper

Writing tools

Book on Mexico’s traditions

Evaluation:

Students will be evaluated on how well they listened and learned about “La Navidad”. Penmanship will also be evaluated.
