Students: We're Ms. Mulrey's sixth-grade class from St. Joseph's School, and Channel One News starts right now!

Azia:Whoa, thanks to the students from St. Joseph’s for that start to the show. I am Azia Celestino. Now let's get to the news.

And first up, the FBI and the U.S. Navy are now part of a team trying to figure out what happened to an EgyptAir flight that fell out of the sky over the Mediterranean Sea yesterday.Flight 804 was flying from Paris, France, to Cairo, Egypt, when the plane went off the radar. Egyptian officials suspect the cause was terrorism, but experts say it is too soon to reach that conclusion.

Mark Rosenker: Could it have been pilot issues, could it have been mechanical failure, could it have been a bomb? All of these things will be revealed when we finally are able to find the aircraft itself.

Azia: Greece says the plane was flying at 37,000 [feet] when it suddenly dropped, disappearing from the radar. Fifty-six passengers and 10 crew members were on board.

Okay, next up, the primary voting season only has a couple weeks to go, with states like California and New Jersey left in the mix. So whose name will be on the general election ballot this November? We take a look at where things stand in OneVote.

Bernie Sanders is hoping to win big in California despite some bad blood with the Democratic Party. His supporters got angry in Las Vegas last weekend, taking aim at party leaders.

Senator Bernie Sanders: To suggest that our campaign has anything to do with creating violence is an outrageand unacceptable and absolutely insulting.

Azia: Sanders is far behind Hillary Clinton in the delegate count. The former secretary of state has fewer than 100 delegates to go before locking up the Democratic nomination.

Meanwhile,Donald Trump is getting ready for the general election as the presumptive nominee for the Republicans. A new poll shows Trump beating Clinton by three points, but that is within the margin of error, so too close to call.

And don't forget, guys — with the election battle gearing up, we are looking for students to join our OneVote team here at Channel One. You will have the opportunity to work with us and have your voice heard, so fill out a form atChannelOne.com and upload a video to YouTube, and we will be in touch.
