Principal’s Summary:

We have had two teachers recognized for their exceptional efforts at Walker Butte. First, Special Education teacher Christie Conlee has been selected as the 2012 Distinguished Service Award Recipient by the Council of Exceptional Children in the state of Arizona. Erinn Holloway another Special Education teacher was recognized at the Beyond Textbooks Conference for entering over 300 lessons in the database. She has been an avid supporter of Beyond Textbooks from the beginning. Both of these ladies work very hard and do a great job of supporting our district vision of “Kids’ First”. Congratulations to these exceptional teachers.

Walker Butte has another special announcement. Since one of our current Assistant Principals, Suzanne Morgan is moving to the STEP and SUMMIT programs we are pleased to announce Jaime Lopez as our new AP. Mrs. Lopez has been with us for five years serving as a second grade teacher and our Title One Reading Specialist. Mrs. Lopez will be a great addition to our administrative team.

I would like to recognize the special efforts of Mrs. Morgan, Ms. Nelson, and Mr. Carrillo. Each had to adjust their current roles at Walker Butte during my absence. There could not have been a better support system than these leaders. I will always appreciate what they have done to keep things together so Walker Butte could continue to be the great school that it is.

We are now preparing for the Benchmarks and completion of the third quarter athletics before the break. Great job Coyotes!
