DATELINE--- Students at WhitwellHigh Schoolare excited to be participating in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society School & Youth Programs. Pennies for Patients is one of the Society’s NationalSchool & Youth SM Programs. Pennies for Patients program, which raises funds to find cures for the blood cancers: Leukemia, Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma, and provide services for patients and their families. It has a double benefit in that it allows students to develop compassion and learn the value of helping others while they are working for a cause that helps save lives.

“You have not lived until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” -unknown

The Whitwell High School Pennies for Patients program is conducted by our CTE Youth Organization, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), under the leadership of Mrs. Alfreda Byford. There will be a competition among all A Block classes collecting the most on average per student enrolled to receive a pizza party. The FBLA Officers have set a goal of $700 in addition to what may be donated online, so we ask you to please assist our cause by making an online donation to help reach our school's fundraising goal. It's easy!

Click on the Donate Now button at the top of the page. You can indicate the student, teacher or classroom to credit for your donation. When you donate, you will automatically receive a tax-deductible receipt to submit to your company's matching gifts program.

School administrators appreciate the value of having students work with a goal of helping others “Our students’ involvement with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society teaches them that they can make a difference in the lives of others,” said Principal Joshua Holtcamp at WhitwellHigh School. “This is a wonderful program for us to take part in, and the expected results of our students’ efforts will benefit an outstanding organization.”
