Jill Collins
Manager for Student Health Promotion: Office of Student Health Promotion offering initatives and opportunities to support students in health promotion. Student health insurance: Currently have Plan A or Plan B available to students. Hopefully will know new health insurance provider within next few days, information on cost is coming. Plan will be set to come down to under $4000, with the potential to change and improve coverage: Free telemedicine. Information about new plan will be coming soon (within the next week), via email.
Questions: Dental insurance included? – Answer to come later with additional information.
Will the health insurance be from a single or multiple providers? One single provider (United Healthcare)
Need help to look at Student Health Insurance Website, and provide insight to what works on the CU website and what works on another student health insurance website. Sign up for the task-force, will only take 30 minutes to complete.
Student Health Promotion: Proposing that campus administers a health risk survey, a culture audit, and third survey in order to align policy in line with students. Administer surverys by mid October 2017. Will need a student voice component to help shape the goals of the office and possible events opportunites.
Questions: Time commitment from a Student to contribute ideas?
Successful groups at other capuses have montly meetings.
Dr. Ikeda
Oral Medicine Interest Group: Seeking approval from the Senate, without a full budget. Electronic vote to follow.Collaborative research opportunities, case discussions, and informative meetings regarding dental health and practice. Funding for collaborative research projects with other schools and travel. Charging dues, ($10 for dental students, $5 for other AMC students). Dental, Pharm, PA, and Med student members.Leadership in place for the fall.
Vote for Group: All in favor. Funding pending an official budget.
Concerns: Include fundraising plans with budget. Encouraging students to ask individual schools for travel funding.
Police Chief’s:
Chief Abraham is retiring and update:
Critical Arc Safezone phone app. Library will have beacons that will tie into the app that will allow dispatch to locate the phone within the library within 1 meter, upon activation of the panic button on the app. Opens a call to dispatch and also allows dispatch to make calls out to individual phones. Can check in on phone and be found on a map.
Electronic security being installed on three Ed building. Panic buttons in the building will initiate call to police, blue strobes will flash, and classrooms will close and lock. Also bleeding control kits located within the classrooms.

VP will provide updates on committee work(s) from the podium.
Legislative Affairs: Plans for next year. Comment boxes planned to be ordered. Planning an end of the year meeting to make future plans. Potential to take on some outreach projects
Finance: Excellence awards coming up. Five awards available, three submissions total. Please nominate someone. Student, groups, or an advisor. Nomination forms are on the Senate website. Senate Polos for the last meeting.
Diversity: Interfaith health panel 4/25/2017. 4-6 pm. Interactive session with leaders from multiple faiths
Philanthropy: None tonight.
Student Life & Affair: 4/25/2017 Last day to buy Rockies Tickets. May 20, Race registration is open.
