This should be completed for each teacher you are asking to write a letter of recommendation. The information on this form will help your teachers write a more personalized letter for you. (This step is optional but we strongly recommend it!) / April-June /

☐ / Complete the Resume found on the Naviance “about me” tab; “interesting things about me”; “resume”

☐ / Complete the Student Self Evaluation found in Google Classroom
This gives a complete picture of your activities - both in and out of school, your honors and awards, and other information that helps your counselor write a comprehensive letter of recommendation. This task is very important. Give it a good deal of thought. Update this document before you leave school. / Now &

Parent Completes the Parent Brag Sheet found in Google Classroom provides additional information from your parent that is helpful in writing your letter of recommendation. / Now /
☐ / Update My SAT/ACT scores on Naviance as you take the tests on the “about me” tab; under “official things”, click on "test scores”; under "test scores”, click "edit" and enter your scores in the appropriate test section. / Now-June /

Move Colleges to the Colleges I Am Applying To List
In Naviance “Colleges I Am Thinking About” list, select the school(s) you have decided to apply to and “Move to Application List”. If colleges on this list come to visit, you will receive an email notifying you of the date and time they are visiting so you can sign up to attend. Colleges must be on this list for us to submit transcripts!

☐ / If you are applying to colleges using the Common Application:
Log onto the Common Application website and create an account.
Click on the “Common App” tab and complete “Education Section”
Click on “College Search” tab and add the college you are applying to
Go to “My Colleges” and click on “My Recommenders”; click “FERPA Release Authorization” to check boxes, sign and save

In Naviance “Colleges I Am Applying to” under the “Colleges” tab. Under the “Teacher Recommendations” section, click the “add/cancel requests” link. Select the teacher you would like to write a recommendation from the drop down menu. Repeat for additional teachers. Click the “Update Requests” button. / At least 3 weeks prior to application deadline /
☐ / Request Test Scores Be Sent To Colleges
Colleges want your ACT and SAT scores sent directly from ACT or The College Board. Log on to your account at or and follow the instructions to have your scores sent to your list of colleges. / As soon as you decide to apply /

☐ / Submit applications by the deadline dates posted by the college and update status in Naviance: “Colleges I Am Applying To”; “My App”; “Have You Applied?”
You do NOT need to wait for Transcripts and Recommendation Letters to be sent in order to submit your Application!!!! / Application

☐ / If you are planning to play a sport in college, register with the NCAA Eligibility Center
Go to and click on “New Account” in the upper right hand corner. Once you create an account, click on the picture of the cell phone on the left. In the My Task window, click on “Official Transcript Needed.” Under “Task Detail,” follow the instructions. / Fall /
