The Healing Ministry Week was celebrated in the month of February 2013. A staff retreat was organized at TRCR campus for the Senior Staff of Arogyavaram Medical Centre. All the Senior Staff actively participated in discussing the Theme “Brokenness to Healing”. We have also organized several other programmes like visiting the prisoners in Madanapalle, visiting the sick and old members of the Local Congregation.

Student Nurses actively participated in all night fasting prayer for seven days during the Healing Ministry Week, and prayed fervently for various concerns of the Institution.

It is indeed a great joy that we celebrated Healing Ministry Week in this Institution and year after year the Staff and Students re-dedicated themselves to serve the people with the spirit of Christ and compassionate action.

World TB day was celebrated on 24th March 2013.Student Nurses participated in Rally in the Surrounding villages.

We have hosted State Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases Conference along with Andhra Pradesh Tuberculosis Association on 13th and 14th April 2013.

Dr. Sunil Chandy, Director of Christian Medical College – Vellore was the Chief Guest for the Inaugural Programme.

Eminent Scholars in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases, about 185 Doctors and TB Specialists from Andhra Pradesh and other parts of the Country participated in this State Conference.

Eminent Speakers from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Christian Medical college – Vellore, Andhra Medical College – Visakapatnam, SV Medical College – Tirupathi and St. John’s Medical College – Bangalore presented papers.

The Oration in the name of Former Director Dr. P.V. Benjamin was delivered by Dr. Anand Zachariah – CMV-Vellore.

As this outstanding Institution in the treatment and Research of Tuberculosis is celebrating 100 years TB care, the TB Association of Andhra Pradeshhas instituted the new oration in the name of Dr. Christian Frimodt Moller, the first Medical Superintendent of UMTS Sanatorium.

The first oration Dr. Christian Frimodt Moller was delivered on 13th April during the Conference by Dr. Premanand – Former Professor of Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases – SV Medical College, Tirupathi.

On July 2013, 101st Anniversary was celebrated. The new Bishop of Rayalaseema Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. B.D. Prasada Rao washonoured and felicitated in a grand function.

All the Staff Members and students actively participated in Sports and Games and Music and DramaCompetitions. It was indeed a joyous celebration.

On December 1st 2013 World AIDS Day was celebrated and all the Student Nurses went in a Rally to the surrounding villages creating awareness about HIV/AIDS.

We have hosted the 30th Diocesan Council of Rayalaseema Diocese in Arogyavaram on 5th & 6th December 2013. About 310 Delegates including including Clergy and Lay people participated. The Deputy Moderator- Church of South India, Rayalaseema Diocese Rt.Rev. Dr.G. Daivasirvadam, Bishop in Dornakal Diocese and the Bishop in Nandhyal Diocese along with members of Partner Church in Korea and Rev. Dr. LEE IL HO from KORIND participated in the Diocesan Council.

All the activities in the different departments of our Institution are functioning well.

The number of out-patients and in-patients are increased this year.

Our Compassion Project in Arogyavaram and Jammalamadugu are doing good work and nurturing the children towards wholistic development.

We are glad to inform you that one of ourProject child from our Compassion Project (IN-431-Arogyavaram Student Centre) by name R. Simon Raj studying in X Std. is selected to play Foot Ball at the National level.

We have revived the Research Activity in Arogyavaram Medical Centre with partnership from St. John’s Medical College &Hospital and Cornell University, USA. We are indeed proud of this because Research in Tuberculosis has been a legacy of this Institution which has found answers for Tuberculosis Treatment in this Country. At present we are challenged with the Research in Tuberculosis and HIV Co-infection etc.,

We continue our efforts to start an exemplary Medical College to reflect the Healing Ministry of the Church. Our vision is to train Christian Doctors (More women) considering the Health needs of women in rural India, by taking women candidate sponsored by rural congregation , thus enabling the congregation for Healing Ministry.

We hope and pray that this vision of establishing a Medical College at Arogyavaram will become a reality soon. We humbly appeal to the new leadership of the Church at the Diocesan and Synod level to uphold us in prayer and support us as we go ahead with this challenging task.
