CHRISTMAS CONCERT: The Bluffton Elementary Christmas concert will be held on Monday,
December 12th, at 1:30 p.m. in the High School gymnasium. Please notify your child’s teacher in advance if you plan to pick up your child from school. Dismissal will be at the elementary school. It will not be possible to make changes in transportation after 1:00 p.m. on that day. Information will be sent home with each student. If school is cancelled, the concert will be rescheduled for Monday, December 19th.
ELEMENTARY SERVICE PROJECT: Our Christmas service project for Bluffton Elementary staff and students is, “Pennies for Patients”. We are collecting coins for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society until December 16th. Thank you for your donations and your support for this special cause.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES: We had excellent participation in our Parent/Teacher Conferences. Thank you to all our parents for their support. It makes a huge difference for our students!
ELEMENTARY MEMORY BOOKS: A colorful elementary Memory Book for the 2016-2017 school year will be on sale in January until February 16th. Informational flyers will be sent home with each student.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Reading Tutors are needed at all elementary grade levels. Grandparents are welcome. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Beth Ackerman at 419-358-7951.
FIFTH GRADE QUIZ BOWL SEASON BEGINS: January 23rd will be the first Quiz Bowl match. All matches will be held at Shawnee Middle School. Our team members are: Theo Andreas, Ella Armstrong, Milo Combs, Ashley Fleece, Riley Geesaman, Ben Hartzler, Adanna Johnstone, Liam Jordan, Izzy Stechschulte, Skyler Thomas, and John-Paul Yoder. They are coached by Miss Christine McCafferty. Good luck team!
ELEMENTARY ART WORK: This Christmas season, stop by Community Markets in Bluffton to enjoy holiday artwork created by First, Second, Fourth and Fifth graders. Artwork by our students will be decorating the store during the month of December. First grade students designed patterned ornaments and used bold, beautiful oil pastels. Second graders learned how to make different values with paint and designed strings of lights. Our Fourth grade students designed stars inspired by stained glass. The Fifth grade used geometric shapes to create unique snowflakes. Merry Christmas! From the Elementary Art Room.

P.T.O. NEWS: Hello and Happy Holidays from the PTO. A huge thank you to everyone who donated items or food for the parent teacher conference meal. We cannot make these things possible without all of you. You will soon see flyers come home regarding Bakery Bingo which will take place onFebruary 4th. Each classroom will have a basket to fill along with a theme, then at Bakery Bingo tickets may be purchased for a chance to win a basket. Last year we had over 80 baskets. This is a great family fun night.
Remember that the Schoolstore campaign we started at the beginning of the year is a year long fundraiser. So you can access it at any time throughout the school year. Thanks again for all of your support.Another big thank you for another successful Spiritwear sale.
