Part-Time Internship Opportunity: IT/Electronics Engineering Assistant

Paraytec is a York based scientific instrument company designing, developing and manufacturing the award winning range of ActiPix brand of ultra violet (UV) area imaging detectors. The detectors use capillaries or area detection in conjunction with sophisticated optics and Active Pixel area sensors resulting in high sensitivity UV detection for use in a variety of life science application areas including proteomics, molecular sizing, biopharmaceutical analysis and microfluidics detection. The detectors work with low volume syringes, capillary electrophoresis and nano and capillary LC systems to produce a powerful analysis of precious samples across a wide dynamic range.

Paraytec’s applications can be classified into two types; capillary based, which include high speed sizing of proteins and antibodies, multiplexed capillary electrophoresis (CE), nano-liquid chromatograph and capillary LC. Area imaging applications include surface dissolution imaging of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), diffusion monitoring, monitoring of transport processes through cell membranes and UV detection for lab-on-a-chip.
