Meeting is called to order at 3:02 P.M.

  1. Guests: Curtis
  2. System-wide student application interface
  3. Planning on implementing this interface by next Spring, would be up and running the following Fall

a)Test version not complete, still needs the bugs worked out

b)Have gotten really good feedback on the interface

c)Wants to include other gender options, rather than binary

d)Needs to have the option for the Phillipines to be added to the list of “Where are you from” or “What High School did you come from”

  1. Students taking classes at other UH classes
  2. All 10 campus calendars will be on a common calendar, because in the past they’ve all been different

a)All the deadlines will be the same

  1. This Spring didn’t purge students for lack of payment

a)Have been keeping track of the data

b)Most students either withdrew themselves or payed eventually

c)System-wide proposal of purging after Fin-Aid dispurses payments; during next Fall

(1)Will be on the CSSAO meeting to discuss this matter further

  1. Moving to Portables in March for the next year

a)Put up signage SOON

b)Returning students who don’t know about the change on the first day of class

(1)Physical messaging on campus

(a)Letting it be the first thing on the email blast

(2)Email messaging to make students aware

c)Attaching the information to MyUH and Laulima as a popup

d)Making sure the wording is understandable; “Fin-Aid moving” rather than “AD building moving”; Click-bait wording?

e)Flowers leading to temporary move site, as an example

  1. Senior visitors sitting in classes

a)Senior visitors dominating the class; what to do?

(1)No hand-raising privileges

(2)Contract between each visitor and class

(a)Limited participation

(b)Guideline saying they won’t interfere with class

b)* For professors to speak with each visitor after class depending on how they acted in class

c)* Require visitors to go to a meeting/training before classes start

d)First step might be that the visitors get a handout on the first day of the class stating what they can and can’t do

e)Preparing faculty about disruptive students and about senior student’s classroom style; workshop for staff

  1. Senior Visitor Issue

a)Health issues; how would we know who they are if something happens to them on campus?

  1. Revision to Sytstem-wide Student Conduct Code

a)Next thing is to go to the academic affairs side and get their review

b)Probably will be implemented Fall of 2019… hoping.

a)How to use the year of moving as an opportunity to change things before the one stop thing is made

  1. Kristina learned: Kimo shared that as a group we will shared one thing we’re good at and one thing we can change; also implementing the “Chill Vibes” box to encourage the heart

c)Workshop from Mitch: the whole workshop was completely different; helped her see outside the box
