Student & Facility Services Coordinator
Opening: Student & Facility Services Coordinator to work with Elementary & Middle School students
Current Openings: School Year Position- (199 school days + 8 holidays)
8.0 hours/day (hours can vary)

Compensation: Hourly rate is $16.14-$18.08, depending on experience

Primary Duty: The Student and Family Services Coordinator support students and families to facilitate their participation in programs that enhance students’ success in school. The coordinator assists students and families to overcome obstacles and barriers that impede the students’ focus on learning and social and emotional wellbeing. Activities coordinated include but are not limited to: Migrant Education Program identification and recruitment, ECEAP Education Program identification and recruitment, records keeping and student advocacy; health services; social and behavioral supports for students; parent involvement and parent education. The Student and Family Services Coordinator reports to the school principal and collaborates with school office staff, teachers and program partners. This position requires occasional evening assignments.

Job Summary:
The Student and Family Services Coordinator supports students and families to facilitate their participation in programs that enhance students’ success in school. The coordinator assists students and families to overcome obstacles and barriers that impede the students’ focus on learning and social and emotional wellbeing. Activities coordinated include but are not limited to: Migrant Education Program identification and recruitment, ECEAP Education Program identification and recruitment records keeping and student advocacy; health services; social and behavioral supports for students; parent involvement and parent education. The Student and Family Services Coordinator reports to the school principal and collaborates with school office staff, teachers and program partners.
Essential Functions:
Migrant Education Program Services
· Maintain records of students, families, services
· Meet with newly arrived families and complete program eligibility documentation
· Visit homes and area businesses as needed to meet with parents, service providers and employers
· Post program information in public areas
· Maintain communication with area employers to identify potential program participants
· Communicate program information to colleagues and program partners per program requirements
· Collaborate with teachers and office staff to identify migrant eligible students’ needs
· Refer migrant eligible students to appropriate services in the Migrant Education and other programs
· Collaborate with the school principal to identify migrant students, especially priority for services migrant students in need of advocacy and support.
· Maintain records of student advocacy services and collaborate regarding such services with teachers and colleagues.
· Maintains electronic contact log to record communicator (student/parent/staff/provider) and to be reviewed by supervisor
Health Services
· Under the supervision of the school nurse, follow up on student health concerns (e.g. contact medical providers, communicate with parents, and meet with students to monitor needs, research needed services).
· Support students experiencing a recent health concern and facilitate communication with appropriate providers and responders.
· Follow district protocols in response to emergency situations
· Maintain accurate and timely records of student medication services and needs.
· Under the supervision of the school nurse, assist students with in-school medications following established procedures.
· Support established medical care plans within the perimeters of medical practitioners’ instructions.
· Maintains electronic contact log to record communicator (student/parent/staff/provider) and to be reviewed by supervisor
Student Advocacy / Social and Behavioral Supports
· Develop a list of students to serve in collaboration with the principal and assistant principal.
· Meet with students at least twice monthly (weekly or more frequently when active/urgent needs occur).
· Apply the principles of PBIS and mental health first aide to support students.
· Meet with supervisor and colleagues to determine need for referrals, parent involvement and other recommended services.
· Follow up and arrange services- facilitate resolution of obstacles when needed.
· Meet with parents and families as needed to facilitate student success.
· Document services on data collection records held in shared files.
· Participate in inservice trainings to expand knowledge and skills in this area as recommended by supervisor.
· Maintains electronic contact log to record communicator (student/parent/staff/provider) and to be reviewed by supervisor
· Communicates twice (or once) monthly electronically with administrators and home room teachers of concerns or supports needed.
Parent Involvement and Parent Education
· Develop in coordination with Wenatchee Valley College a program for adult education to be offered on site in the Orondo School District.
· Host and attend designated parent involvement and parent education events and activities.
· Facilitate arrangements for parent involvement events as required by state and federal programs and as directed by supervisor/federal program staff.
· Facilitate and instruct parent education events when such events are within the expertise of the student and family services coordinator.
· Collaborate with administrators and program staff to determine needs in the area of parent involvement and parent education.

· ECEAP Education Program identification and recruitment
Administrative Support/Other Duties
· Arrange for catering for parent, staff and district events.
· Provide assistance to other office staff as requested by supervisor.
· Provide translation and interpreting services for parents and others as requested by supervisor.
· Scanning meals, assisting with kitchen service, and student supervision
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
· Ability to speak and write in both English and Spanish
· Knowledge of proper English grammar, spelling, and usage in both oral and written communication

Minimum Qualifications:
· Bilingual and Biliterate in English and Spanish
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Secretarial/clerical experience of at least 1 year
· Experience and/or training with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity
· Knowledge of record keeping and filling systems
· Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
· Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license with no serious violations
· Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later)
· I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act
Preferred Qualifications:
· Associate of Arts (A.A.) Degree or higher
· Previous experience in a K-12 school setting
· Previous experience with the Migrant or ECEAP programs
