Year 10 World of Work Event 2016

July 14th – 18th

Student Delegate Guide

The development work to make this exciting and most unique event happen is collaboration between the school, Teeside University and key employers from the North East. Funding support has been received from Northumberland County Council and Cllr Anne Dale.

Since the very nature of this event is all about young people making the connections with people from the world of work, a great many businesses are playing a part in helping to make this event and exciting experience.

Within this four day event you will be working in teams to experience some of theCareers Research Activitieswhich are designed to encourage you to explore different avenues of work, investigate careers that interest you and meet and talk with people in different job roles.

In the following 3 days the success of your team projects will depend on the following criteria being met:

  • how well you work together in your team to achieve the end result
  • How much evidence you can provide showing your research, investigations, interview materials (including showing the list of questions you’ve set) and the conclusions you’ve reached about the things you’ve found out.
  • How you manage your time
  • The identification of individual tasks
  • Your final presentation during the Expo event

Good luck and enjoy the experience!
