In order to attend a traditional dance at Covina High School (Homecoming, Sadie Hawkins, or Prom), all students must have noSaturday School Assignments or fines.

Event Information: The activity will be from 7:00pm-11pm on Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at the Diamond Bar Center, Diamond Bar, CA. Pictures by Lifetouch will be available in the facility from 7:00-10:30pm. Students will also be able to enjoy dancing, take pictures with Lifetouch, and delight indinner & desserts and drinks.

Ticket Sales: Tickets go on sale Wednesday, April 18th, 2018in the ASB office at lunch (Monday- Friday) or 2:45-3:30pm (Monday- Friday). A completed Code of Expectations Form and Guest Pass are required to purchase tickets. Tickets are sold per person (not per couple) with a starting price of $90 with ASB card & $100 without for Covina Students, & $100 for guest. No tickets will be sold at the door!!

The Code of Expectations: You can get cleared Wednesday April 11th, 2018- Monday, April 30th, 2018. Deadline for completing the Code of Expectations Forms for Prom Dance is Monday, April 30th, 2018by 1:00pm. Saturday Schools must be completed, and verification submitted to the Assistant Principal’s Office on or before the deadline, no exceptions. Know what you owe – check with the Assistant Principal’s Office. Scheduled Saturday school dates available for clearing: 4/14, 4/21, 4/28.

Prom Dress Standards: Promis usually a formal dancefor students. Girls usually wear long dresses and boys usually wear suits or tuxes. CHS dress code applies to CHS students and their guests. Students not meeting dress code standards may not be admitted. Students altering their dress so that it does not meet the school dress code during the event may be removed from the activity. Students may not wear costumes nor bring props to the event. (You can always check with Mrs. Riley in the ASB office).

Dance Floor Rules: The following dance styles have been determined to be inappropriate for high school dances/activities and are not allowed: Break Dancing, Challenge Dancing, Freaking, Lap Dancing and any dancing that chaperones/security personnel determine to be inappropriately provocative. Students who refuse to comply with these guidelines are subject to disciplinary action including being asked to leave the dance, loss of future dance attendance privileges, and suspension from school for defiance of authority. Students removed from the dance for discipline reasons will not receive a refund.

Students who are not admitted or are removed from Promfor dress code or behavior/dancing violations are not eligible for a refund and may also lose eligibility for Homecoming attendance.

Pick Up Info: To ensure proper pick-up time, students who use other transportation companies such as limos and shuttles must arrive by 11pm! Any limo or shuttle that does NOT pick-up on time will result in a phone call to parents. Students should arrive to the dance within an hour of start time and not leave earlier than 30 minutes before the dance is over, unless they have parent/guardian permission.

*Parents: Please make arrangements to pick your student up at 11:00p.m. or earlier. Any student pick-ups after 11:30p.m. are subject to detention hours.
