I never New I was assigned an advisor. This information was not provided when I transferred
I didn’t see my advisor this semester, but I did last semester
Advisors were not available during the times I was able to meet them
He was unhelpful Id much rather meet with another advisor
I didnt know I had to after orientation advising
I do not know.
they were busy
I met with staff advisors
I was in group advising
No one reached out to me and I don't know who my advisor is to be honest.
Meeting was good.
Senior student at Foothill High School
I already know the last of the classes I need to take to graduate.
I haven’t been fully admitted to CSUB yet
Was unable to get a meeting scheduled.
There was no advising hold on my account.
Taking college course on high school campus
I do stem program through BC. Not an actual Csub student
I felt that I wasn’t allow to sign up to see my advisor one on one. Was told that I had to do group advising and one on one was only available under certain circumstances.
He was only able to talk to me by email.
Do not know who my academic advisor is.
I met with a group advisors new transfer
Just applied
I’m not sure what you’re talking about
They do group advising for my department and then faculty advisors did not seem to help much with advising.
I chose to do group sessions
I'm not sure who my advisor is
I did schedule a time to meet and when I arrived he dismissed me because he forgot about the meeting. I tried contacting him through email and he was slow to respond and very vague. After awhile I stopped contacting him and went off of the information I had when I first transferred.
we emailed
i am not really a student yet
I haven’t attended csub I will attend in the fall
I got different answers from all the advisors and most of the time the advisors were in a hurry
When I changed my major, I was told that my advisor was from the faculty and that I should email this professor to get started with things. I emailed the professor twice and never got a reply. I also called the person, but there was no answer. I was not sure if it was even still their number because I was using the number on the CSUB faculty page. I got busy with classes, so I didn't have time to make arrangements and investigate further. I could not find office hours online or on this person's door. The next semester after I just thought maybe I do not need to meet with an advisor. I talked to other students in my major and they told me they see these advisors that are not faculty. I had never known about these advisors previously. No on told me this. Then I was forced to meet with an advisor the next semester and finally met with an advisor that was not part of faculty. Since then, I have met at least once a semester.
The advising system has never been concisely explained so when attempting to seek advising its been past the early scheduling required to get advising from BPA advisers. :/ 2018-S i worked with Dr. Paris and Trish H. directly.
Csub failed to input all my transfer courses in time so I was not able to meet with my assigned advisor.
Some advisors are rude and don't really help so I just did group advising.
My department does group advisings
I didn’t meet with my advisor because when I met with her, she helped me chose classes for two semesters in a row in that one time appointment.
Meeting my advisor on 02/05/18
I don’t know
My advisor never replied to my emails
The only time I went they didn't seem to know what they were talking about and that is not helpful and a waste of my time.
I am dually enrolled
Did it through orientation
I emailed but didn’t receive a response
When I wanted to set an appointment with my advisor she wasn't in
I used the group advising session once a year. I found that my own advisor made to many errors and I felt she didn’t really prioritize her duties as an advisor.
My faculty advisor was not much help
I was not assigned an advisor before I began to attend CSUB.
I was given a retired advisor, and had to find an advisor my second year in college.
My advisor wanted me to do group advising and I was late for that . I could only meet up with her if I have some type of question or problem .
My advisor seen a mistake on my class outline
Appointments have to be made and they are usually spaced out 1 to 2 month so ahead. If I need something done ASAP or quick information for me personally, there’s no point in meeting up unless it can wait
I didn't know how to or who to schedule it with
Couldn't get ahold of him.
I met with my high school counselor since I am a senior in high school
The previous advisor I had was rude and it felt like they were always irritated by me. I felt very uncomfortable asking them for their time. This actually made me hesitant to meet with my current advisor but she is not that way and she is very helpful!
I am not an official student yet
It was as a group with several advisors
I didn’t know I had to
I just started at CSUB.. I haven’t had the chance to meet more than once
I am not currently enrolled at CSUB I am waiting for acceptance letter.
My faculty advisor recommended I meet with a staff advisor with my grad check
I met with an adviser, but I know it wasn’t my assigned advisor. I was never ever to find him
She was always booked up. The earliest appointment I could get sometimes was a mounth away.
i didnt know i had to meet with every semester
This is my 1st semester at Csub so I haven to made an appointment yet
I am currently waiting to speak to her next week for the first time
I don’t go to CAUB yet
I only had a phone appointment with my advisor . I have not been assigned a faculty advisor
I was never assigned an advisor
I met with a department advisor rather than my assigned faculty advisor
From the times I had met with my advisor, I didn’t think there was anything they did for me that I hadn’t already done myself
They kept canceling the group advising sessions I was put in and I could not reschedule.
Before I was dismissed I didn’t understand that the advisor was a useful tool. When I came back to CSUB av it was hard to make an appointment with the advisor
Emailed if I had questions
I just started and will get to it
My advisor told me to just email him to take my hold off
I made numerous appointments all to which he didn't show up for
When I did meet with my faculty advisor she was very disorganized (We couldn’t get into her office it was so full of papers and boxes), and she told me she didn’t know “anything about school psychology” when I told her that was my final grad school goal
I have not been able to communicate with my advisor, no return from phone calls or emails. Advising is difficult hard to catch or arrange an appointment.
The first semester it felt rushed and as a freshman I felt like I needed more attention
Attended worthless group advising
My department only gives group advising. The only way to meet with my own advisor is under certain circumstances.
I always signed up for group advising, not thinking/knowing I had to meet with my assigned adviser.
I thought my advisor was going to reach out to me since, I am doimg my degree online
I could not get in contact with my assigned advisor
I didn't know Irene was my adivsor
I have my first appointment scheduled with my advisor, but it's until next week.
When I do call to make an appointment the adviser is booked.
Half of the time I feel put down and degraded
If I didn't have a hold on my account, I didn't go see him.
Advising appointments were too difficult to schedule.
