Step One: Initiation of the Appeal

The student should state the nature of the appeal in writing as specifically as possible. Include prior actions taken to address the issue and explain why you appealing. You may attach one additional page.

Step Two: Faculty Response

The faculty members involved should state the nature of the problem and efforts made to resolve the problem with the student (an additional page may be attached if needed).

Step Three: Hearing with Committee on Students

The Assistant Dean will forward the documents and the matter to the Committee on Students. This called meeting is led by at least two College faculty members, and two students.The Dean should state the nature of the problem and efforts to resolve the problem with the student. (attach additional pages if necessary).

*Complete copies of this appeal document with all signatures should be given by the student to the faculty member and the Dean of the College of Nursing.

Step Four: Appeal continued with University Vice President.

If the issue is still unresolved after the meeting with the Committee on Students, the student can take the issue to the University Vice President of Academic Affairs (STEP FOUR). The student is referred to the University Process in the catalog.
