Stratos Announces New Leadership Structure and Expanded Design Services

Company Begins 2013 with Increased Office Space and Headcount

Seattle, Wash. – February 27, 2013 – Stratos Product Development today announced that it has created three new director positions within its leadership team to support the continual growth of the organization and to better serve client needs. Nick D’Ambrosia joins Stratos as the Director of Software Engineering; Brian Read has been promoted to Director of Electrical Engineering; and Wallace White has been promoted to Director of Mechanical Engineering. The company has also added Lindsey Berdan to its Industrial Design teamto lead the firm’s User Interaction Design efforts.

Nick D’Ambrosia joined Stratos on February 11, 2013. Nick brings over 25 years of product development experience and leadership of large, cross-functional teams. An expert in medical devices, ultrasound and custom embedded product creation, Nick will lead the growing embedded software development team at Stratos.

A 16year Stratos veteran, Brian Read was promoted from LeadElectrical Engineer to the Director of Electrical Engineering. He has over 40 years experience, with specific expertise in systems engineering, embedded systems design and integration, sensors, opto-electronics, lasers, wearable productsand ultra-low power design.

As thenewlyappointed Director of Mechanical Engineering, Wallace White also heads the Manufacturing Engineering team and has been instrumental in Stratos’ recent efforts in global health. Wallace has been with the company for seven years, and brings expertise in the mechanical and system design of diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices as well as consumer electronics, using strengths in system architecture and design for domestic and overseas manufacturing.

Stratos’ design team has recently expanded with the addition of Lindsey Berdan, User Interaction Designer. Lindsey comes to Stratos from Fluke Corporation, and brings extensive experience in user-centered design, human factors engineering and product requirements definition. Lindsey will work with Stratos clients to create exceptional user experiences and interface designs for their products.

In preparation for housing its continually growing team, Stratos hasexpanded into an additional 8500 square feet in its Seattle World Trade Center offices with facilities for morestaff, additional engineering performance labs and collaborative project space.
