Strategic Planning

As we are still in the process of pulling the SLT team together and working on the future, wehavenotconcentrated so muchon the strategic plan, but rest assured we will be addressing in conjunction with the Board, an updated valueproposition and adjustingourstrategicplans to meet current needs.

The Board/Staff Retreat is schedule for Oct. 21 & 22 – More details to come.

Resources the team is going to be using as we consider the future are Balanced Scorecard/Strategy Mapping by Kaplan/Norton. THANK YOU RITA for converting the documents to Nonprofit language!

Now that we have a complete SLT Team, in addition to “balancing our scorecard”, we will be workingon a joint 90-day leadership plan to help folks knowwhat to expect in thecoming new year. Thesourcereferenceforthis plan isThe First 90 Daysby Michael Watkins.

Next Steps:

As we go continue to navigate this transition period, I will continue to update you weekly on new happenings and progress, so this report is somewhat brief. Here are some things that are important to know:

~Several Board members and Elise in conjunction with staff members have been working on a much improved internal and external communications plan. Look for more information to come in the following month.

~We have completed reviewing our donors list and have found only two cases, totaling less than $500, where donors might have dropped off. With further analysis, Elise feels the most that would be lost is $2200 for the year, however we are already over last year’seffortsand most of ourmajordonorshave been contacted and remain happy and confident in our future.

~We have visited with the entire fee-for-service staff and all crews are fully subscribed through the end of the year with no lossdue to conflictsorconcerns. Anypotentialloss in revenuefortheyearisdue to notfilling positions earlyon. Wecontinue to monitor and staff continue to reporttherehavebeen no disruptions to contractingdue to thetransition.

~Wecontinue to workwith Blue Cross/Blue Shieldonsetting up requirementsfor a new computer/software system and are in hopes that BCBS will be wrapping up theiranalysis in thenextfewweeks. At thatpoint, wewillbegin shopping forvendors. IF ANY BOARD MEMBER HAS EXPERIENCE IN THIS ARENA, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CHIME IN! Wecould use support as wegothroughtheselectionprocess.

~We are stillwaitingonauditcomplianceletterfrom CNCS and expectit to arriveshortlyafterour Washington DC Symposium (Eric and I are herenow). Wewillkeepyouposted.

~I metwith Corps network staff while in DC and am in theprocess of tranferring Cindy Dorn’sBoardseat to me. Theycontinue to expressshowpleasedthey are withourdirection and offersupport in anywaythey can help.

Please look forsignificantlyimprovedreportscoming in thenearfuture – and manykudos to Elise forgetting new designsstarted as quickly as posible.

Respectfully,

Teresa
