Trailer Script

Write an introduction that:

·  Starts with an anecdote (“Imagine a world”…), quote (from your book), or question

·  Highlights the main characters

·  Reveals the main problem

Imagine a world of wicked winds and even more wicked people, a harsh world where only the harsh survive. This is Eurus.
A girl exiled from her homeland takes on the brutality of the Eurus winds and its people as she searches for her family.

Write a sample of an exciting or dramatic scene from your book that:

·  Relates to the main problem

·  Shows off the main characters

·  Hints at something important to come without giving away the ending

“What’s wrong?” Uru asked.
Naamah stared in cold silence at the dusty scroll in her hands. Its torn edges revealed it’s age. She had been gone a long time.
She cradled the frail artifact in her hands. The muskibou skin that it was written upon was dry and cracked like the skin of one of the elders, worn over years of windswept savagery. She cried. She cried for the lost years. She cried for her own pity. She cried for the words that lingered between her and her mother the last time they spoke.
Uru interrupted her sorrows.
“Naamah?” he asked.
A solitary truth enveloped her mind.
“They’re gone.”

Write a conclusion that:

·  Questions what will happen

·  Predicts reader interest (“If you enjoyed…”)

·  Urges action

Naamah’s adventure to find her family takes her from the icy shores of Dairres across the Capific Ocean and into the mysterious marble caves of Ambler Hamnel.
Be the first to join Naamah’s adventures in Eurus March 4th.

How will music and pacing be different from one section to the next to engage your audience?

Introduction / Slow, dark, foreboding.
Body / Soft, quiet, sad
Conclusion / Epic, adventurous, faster pace.
