STORY OF THE RAVENS AND THE LILIES
BASED ON: Luke 12:22-31
THEME: Do not worry.
INTRODUCTION: This is a Bible story for children, based on the parables of Jesus.
Role Play: A girl is shopping at the mall with her friend.1st / What shall I wear to the party?
2nd / You have lots of clothes!
1st / Just look at all these pretty new styles.
2nd / You could wear your green dress.
1st / But I want something new!
2nd / You really want to look impressive.

D = What will we Do about it?
STORY:
- Tell the story of the raven and the lilies from Luke 12:22-31.
- Have the children act out the story, or draw a picture of the ravens and the lilies. (Use birds and flowers that are common in your area.)
- Does anyone want to retell the story?
DISCUSSION:
1. Observation questions:
- What do the ravens do? Who feeds the ravens?
- (Show a lily or another flower.) How do the lilies grow?
- What advice does Jesus give to us?
2.Understanding questions: Use some of these questions or add your own.
- Why did Jesus tell this story?
- Why don’t we need to worry about food or clothes?
- How did God care for the ravens and the lilies?
- Does God also care for us?
- Does God know what we need?
- What does worrying do for us? Does worrying help to solve the problems?
- What does it mean to seek God’s kingdom? (His kingdom is where God reigns as King.)
- How can we seek God’s kingdom and put God first?
3. Application questions:Use some of these questions or add your own.
- What do you worry about?
- What can you do instead of worrying?
- What are you doing to seek God’s kingdom and put God first?
4. Memory verse: Luke 12:31.You can use the memory verse games to learn this verse.
5.Practice:
- Divide into pairs to practice telling this story.
- During the week, tell your family, friends and neighbors the story of the ravens and the lilies.
