·  Please go to the Veterans Athletics webpage www.veteransathletics.com. You can follow the website with Facebook and Twitter. We will be keeping it up-to-date with information (especially important for any changes).

·  All golf practices will begin at 3:15 PM. Practices will be on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Players must provide their own ride to practice. If you cannot attend a practice for any reason, you are required to get in contact with your coach. Three absences will result in loss of playing time or expulsion from the team if it becomes a pattern (Coaches’ discretion).

·  If you’re not playing in a scheduled match, please check the practice schedule. Practices are subject to change, but should be consistent with the schedule.

·  Each player must raise $300 to VHS and $100 to HLCC in order to participate in golf for the 2017 season. YOU MAY FUNDRAISE THIS MONEY! See Fundraiser Letter for details on how to have sponsorship to alleviate these costs for you.

·  Please refer to practice/match schedule for times/locations of all practices, matches, and tournaments. (Given Later)

·  Golfers must have a current Physical on file in order to try-out or participate in golf activities

·  Golfers must have a current Concussion Form on file in order to try-out or participate in golf activities

·  Golfers must be academically eligible with the GHSA in order to try-out or participate in golf activities

·  Golf Try-Outs will be as follows: Girls February 13th, Boys February 15th, Make-Ups February 16th

Golf Team Policies:

·  Student athletes are expected to follow all school and county policies

·  Players will uphold the standards of Veterans High School and be an ideal representative of VHS at both the school and golf events.

·  Players are expected to be courteous and respectful to golf professionals, other players, and coaches at all times.

·  Players are expected to abide by the dress codes set forth by golf courses.

·  Players are expected to follow golf etiquette on the course, range, and pro shop.

·  Always abide by the USGA rules.

·  Players are responsible for making up any schoolwork missed due to traveling to matches and tournaments.

·  Failure to follow team policies will result in disciplinary action at the coaches’ discretion.

Lettering Policy:

1.  Attend all practices unless excused by the coach prior to the absence.

2.  Complete entire golf season.

3.  Adhere to all rules and policies.

4.  Exhibit proper sportsmanship and etiquette throughout the season.

5.  Have a counting score at any tournament during season.

6.  Have a counting score at the Area or State Tournament.

7.  Coaches’ discretion.
