Ustar Miah welcomed Eddie and Sadia to the meeting, who then gave a short talk to tenants present.
4.1. / Eddie explained the services that provided by the CAB including support on
Housing Issues, Rent, Debt and also a new project named ‘Advice on Prescription’ for vulnerable tenants who can request the GP to do a referral on their behalf for CAB service.

The CAB are actively Recruiting volunteers from Black and Minority Ethnic Communities. Eddie explained that they want the team of volunteers to reflect the diversity of the community. Full training and work experience is provided. Eddie said so far 16 volunteers have signed up since last year.
For general CAB service Toxteth CAB is open Wednesday – Friday from 9:30am to 4pm.
5 / Tenant’s issues
  • A HPC tenant raised that her back door area in the garden was very dark and requested extra security light
•A tenant informed staff that she had requested a copy of the SBHA Allocation policy following discussion at previous meeting. It was agreed that a copy of the Allocation Policy would be send to the Tenant who raised this issue.
•A HPC tenant spoke to U Miah regarding her concerns about another tenant.
•A tenant complained about people playing drums late at night at Bath Sights next to the old library in Lodge Lane and was advised to report it to the Police.
•A tenant about the type of double glassing and he commented that he did not feel it kept the noise out.
•2 tenants queried when the gardener will be on site. Ustar explained that the gardeners do not attend in winter. One tenant from stated she was unhappy with the gardener as she said they leave litter behind and do not cut back the hedges. Tenant was advised to show scheme manager B Thompson where she referred to.
•A tenant enquired if boards could be installed alongside the garden fence at Steve Biko Close to stop the litter getting through. The tenant asked if he could put boards on his side himself.
  • Tenant also raised issue regarding noise levels from Magdala Street next to Steve Biko Close, it is getting worse and also lots of litter from Tak Shop.
•A Tenant raised that Magdala Street next to Steve Biko Close and TAK shop was dangerous and that the Residents Only parking sign has been removed.
  • The tenant suggested that we invite Councillor Natalie Nicolas to be at tenants meeting. –
/ It was agreed for the Scheme Manager to arrange fitting of light through the Repairs line.

Tenant was advised that there is no budget for this facility. Tenant was advised to inform SBHA that this is what he would like permission to do.
M Hassan will ask B Williams to invite her to the meeting.
