What is a lotus diagram?

This analytical tool is used for organization and brainstorming. It helps break down topics of information, which can then be prioritized for additional study.

Steps in creating a lotus diagram

  1. Determine topic to be studied.
  2. Brainstorm ideas into major topics.
  3. Use the template or create own lotus diagram.
  4. Place the main topic in the center of the lotus diagram. Beginning at the diagonal right out spot, number each around the center from 1 to 8.
  5. Brainstorm information about each of the subtopics to study.

When do you use a lotus diagram?
