Virtual College Visit
Step 1: Gathering Information
1. Go to You University TV (http://www.youniversitytv.com/) and take a few virtual college tours
2. Explore the top 3 universities you might want to attend
3. Check out a few careers that interest you and take a look at the educational requirements
Step 2: Creating a Slide Show
1. Open a new PowerPoint document
2. Choose a background design
3. Create a slide show with the following information
a. Title Slide – Name of College, your name, college logo
b. Information slides (1 topic per slide)
i. Fast Facts
ii. Campus Information
iii. Highlights of College
iv. Comparison Chart (see instructions below)
v. Contact Information
Step 3: Comparing 3 Colleges
1. Go to Big Future College Board ( https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/compare-colleges)
2. Type in the names of 3 colleges you may be interesting in attending
3. Find the following information about the 3 colleges:
a. Location
b. Public or Private
c. Admissions
d. Annual Tuition
e. Room and Board
f. Campus Size
g. Enrollment
Step 4: Creating the Chart
1. On your “Comparison Chart” Slide click on the Insert menu and go to Table
2. Create a table with 4 columns and 8 rows
3. Add information as shown on example below
4. Resize the table and text as needed
Step 5: The Presentation
1. You need a MINIMUM of 6 slides for this assignment
2. Be sure to use plenty of pictures
3. Animate your words and pictures
4. Create transitions for every slide
5. Save it as Virtual College Visit
