Property The Resort is a meticulously planned retreat of homes and villas in a Description wooded river setting, capturing the charm and beauty of a 19th Century
Southern village. Cottage exteriors feature Victorian and Florida Cracker architecture, while the interiors offer modern conveniences that appeal to today's families, young and old. The Landing's 35 acres are carefully laid out to protect and highlight its natural beauty. Narrow streets and paths wind between and around the property's magnificent live oak, pine, sabal palm, cedar, magnolia and cypress trees, making the most of Mother Nature’s landscaping. Other outdoor amenities include wooden bridges that cross a picturesque tidal creek, picket fences, gazebos and swings, a vegetable, herb and spice garden, croquet lawn and a petting zoo.

Roy's Restaurant, a local favorite for more than 35 years, offers an extensive salad bar, fried seafood and juicy hamburgers. RecreationSteinhatchee has been a famous fishing destination for generations, with
freshwater and saltwater fishing year-round. Local commercial fishermen make a living harvesting fish, blue crab and stone crab. Great fishing can be found both inshore, offshore and on the fly for big catches of redfish, grouper, sea trout, black bass, snapper, cobia and more. During the summer at Steinhatchee, scalloping takes center stage. The Steinhatchee area is known as “Florida's Scallop Capital,” the pure river and Gulf waters making an ideal habitat for these delicious shellfish. Scalloping season opens July 1 and ends September 10 each year. Because scalloping is so popular, accommodation and guide reservations should be made well in advance. Other popular recreational opportunities in the area include bird watching, hiking, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, scuba diving, cave diving and nature photography.
