STEAM Fair Volunteers

Volunteer Check In:

  • Volunteer Parking: Visitor Parking Lot next to Academic Center

Arrival time for STEAM Fair/Lunch volunteers: 10:00

All volunteers and facilitators are asked check-in in room 115in theAcademic Center. You will be given your event t-shirt, a schedule, and a map. Challenge facilitators will need to check their challenge space and make any changes needed before the volunteers arrive.Volunteers will then be sent to their assigned location. If you have been assigned to run a STEAM Fair activity, you will receive instructions on the activity when you arrive.

STEAM Fair & Power of Photography Display:

There will be 11 tables set up in the Airport Student Center Breezeway. From 9:30-10:30 before the STEAM Fair, the FIRST LEGO League Jr. Expo will take place in the Airport Student Center Breezeway. As soon as the expo is over, exhibitors can start setting up at their tables. The Exhibitor Greeters will greet exhibitors when they arrive at the breezeway and show them to their set-up area. Other STEAM Fair volunteers will run 4-H Science on the Move activities during the STEAM Fair. Exhibits should be set up by 11:00am and should be left up until at least 2:00pm. The Power of Photography submissions will be displayed in this area as well.

When the announcement is made for everyone to make their way to the Academic Center Auditorium for the Block B & C Awards Ceremony, the Exhibitor Greeters will bring the Power of Photography Challenge display to the auditorium. Volunteers can come to the awards ceremony if they would like or they can stay and pack up their STEAM Fair activity.

We will give out the awards for each competition (competitions will be awarded in alphabetical order). When each competition’s awards are given out, the challenge facilitator will be called to the stage. Challenge facilitators will announce winning teams in this order: 3rd, 2nd, and 1st. They will list the names of the students on each winning team, hand the award to the team, and then a picture will be taken with the team, the facilitator, and a representative from EnlightenSC. If you can stay after the awards ceremony to help with clean-up, please do!
