Steaks on a Plane... Foyle Food Group Sends First Irish Beef Order Stateside for St Patrick’s Day

Foyle Food Group has shipped its first order of Irish beef from Donegal to the US to arrive on St Patrick’s Day.
Foyle is one of only two beef producers in all of Europe approved for export of beef to the United States following the lifting of a 15-year export ban.
Business Development Manager Michael Acheson said: “Ireland became the first EuropeanMemberState to obtain access to the US for its beef in January this year. We are delighted to be delivering our first shipment to the States, just in time for St Patrick’s Day. What better accompaniment to a pint of the black stuff than our tasty grass-fed Irish beef?”
The company is responding to significant interest generated by the recent launch of Irish beef in New York, Washington DC and Boston. Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney TD led the launch.

Helping matters along Stateside is the Amboy Group, an importer of premium food products into the US. The group distributes to major US retailers such as Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Wegman’s, ShopRite, Loblaw’s,Kroger, Costco and other. It also distributes to food service companies, restaurants and hotels throughout North America.
