STD FINAL PROJECT:Presentation During Finals

Selecting a topic Students may choose the topic from a list of accepted STDs. Chancroid, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, Genital Herpes, HIV/AIDS, Genital Warts, Human papillomavirus (HPV), Syphilis, Trichomoniasis, Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) or Lymphogranuloma Venereum.

Requirements

1.Make a Google Slide presentation that you will present to the class.

  • Your digital presentation cannot have paragraphs in it, instead it will have bullets summarizing your findings and each person can verbally add in the extra details and explanations.
  • Use graphs, illustrations and other visuals where appropriate. They can be in your digital presentation as well as on posters or handouts to give to the class (make sure you include the sources for ALL pictures and graphs)
  • ALL PICTURES USED MUST HAVE A SOURCE BENEATH IT
  • Your presentation should be a minimum of 5 minutes, and a maximum of 7 minutes. At 7 minutes you will be asked to stop.
  • ALL members of the group must speak during the presentation (should be about equal)
  • DRESS UP on the day of your presentation. Dress to impress!
  • You will be graded on the quality of the digital presentation, the quality of the information and the quality of your oral presentation
  • Do not use a font size less than 28-30 in your slides (it cannot be read at a distance)

  • When do these symptoms arise?
  • Number of reported cases (U.S./World)
  • Women vs. men affected by disease (statistics)
  • Any countries/ parts of the world where this disease is more prevalent?
  • Effects on fetus if woman who has this disease is pregnant
  • Treatment
  • Complications
  • Risk Factors
  • Life expectancy of affected individual
  • Prevention methods
  • Support groups available

2. Along with your digital presentation, turn in the note cards/script (typed) that you are using during the presentation (This will be physically turned in on presentation day.

  • THEY SHOULDN’T be read word for word. They are to be used as a guide.

3. You must turn in a formal Works Cited page. Include EVERY resource you gather information from. (MLA format)

Any visuals were explained clearly. 7. Did not read off of Google Slides, but instead either memorized their portion or used a script (automatic -15 off total presentation)
