Welcome Back to School!
The NH PTA Board sends warm regards to all families, returning and new (familiar and fresh faces!) We hope you had a wonderful, fun-filled, summer.
The PTA Board has been making plans for the 2017-2018 school year. We are excited to support our students, staff and families to help make it a great year for all. If you have questions about PTA or have questions about how to get involved, feel free to contact any of the officers. We’d love your support!
We are looking forward to seeing many of you at “Back to School Night” on August 31st from 4-6pm. Feel free to stop by our table to see how you can get involved!
2017-2018 PTA Meeting Dates In an effort to involve as many families as possible, the NH PTA has decided to alternate meetings on a monthly basis between Tuesdays and Thursdays with a targeted run-time of roughly 1 hour. Please make sure to put these dates on your calendar now so you can plan to join us:
September 14th
October 24th November 16th December 12th January 18th
February 20th March 22nd
April 24th May 17th
PTA Meetings are held in the Media Center (library) and will begin promptly at 6:30pm. Childcare will be available at each meeting. Are you able to be there but not a member? You don’t have to be a member to attend. Please come. Have some ideas/feedback that you’d like to share, the board earmarks time at the beginning of each meeting to hear from any and all parents. We are always looking for good ideas.
Room Coordinators
As we start a new year Room Coordinators will need to be established quickly. Some grades have field trips and other activities very early and the teachers need our help. The Room Coordinator is a parent from each classroom who organizes parent volunteers for fieldtrips and parties and other opportunities. Please visit the PTA webpage (via the HUB) and click the Sign-up Genius link to volunteer, or consider signing up at Back to School Night for this important role. Many of you with returning students signed up at the end of last school year and we appreciate that. We’ll be in touch soon!
Volunteer Opportunities Be on the lookout in the weeks ahead. Do you desire to help behind the scenes at NH? We are always looking for willing volunteers to stuff brown envelopes on Wednesdays or to serve lunch any day of the week. Please visit the PTA webpage (via the HUB) and click the Sign-up Genius link to volunteer.
Bloomington Heritage Days
The 8th annual Heritage Days Parade is on Saturday, September 16th @ 10:30am. Normandale Hills will have a float again this year. If you are interested in helping, stay tuned for more details.
Family Fun Night!
A fall movie night is planned for September 22nd @ 6pm. We’ll be requesting some help from parents who would be willing to help with concessions sales in the near future.
