Statement: My wife, Steffanie, and I face the same challenges as other families in our community: congested freeways; friends struggling to get jobs; finding good schools and safe neighborhoods. Government can be part of the solution, but only with clear priorities and independent leadership.

As a former high school coach and son of two lifelong educators, I know the importance of public education. As a leader in the State Senate, I worked to prioritize education at all levels. I helped develop a budget that held tuition flat at Washington colleges while putting an additional $1 billion into classrooms without raising taxes.

I’m supported by Independents, Democrats, and Republicans because I work across the aisle. Together, we expanded care and employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities and stiffened penalties for DUI. We passed a 4-year balanced budget requirement, the toughest in the nation, and closed unfair tax loopholes while securing tax relief for families and small businesses. I’m asking for your vote to continue working on your behalf. Please contact me and let me know how I can serve you better!

Statement: I was born in Seattle and have lived in this area my entire life. I graduated from Renton High School and earned my BA and MS from Central Washington University. I am a small business owner.

It is my believe that the voters of South King County need to have a choice. Our politics are gridlocked and we are emulating the other Washington. We need to solve the issues of transportation and full funding of education. We need to broaden our tax base.

All people need is to be given a fair chance to succeed. One needs to be able to survive if working full time. Livable wages are the answer. We can achieve this if we support small businesses and quit giving everything to corporations that do not support the workers.

If the people at the top are making millions of dollars per year they can afford to pay a livable wage. They will still be rich and the rest of us can work toward achieving the American dream. Voters need and deserve a choice. Vote your values!
