Elected Experience: Elected to Legislature in 2012. As State Representative, Gael serves on House policy committees for higher education, technology, economic development, and transportation. Elected to the Port of Seattle Commission in 2007, Gael was Audit Committee Chair in 2010 and Commission President in 2012.

Statement: I will work to support maritime jobs, make higher education affordable, improve health care, and protect our environment. I passed a bill creating the Legislative Task Force on Economic Resilience of Maritime and Manufacturing. We froze higher education tuition for two years. One of my bills allows skilled, licensed healthcare workers from outside Washington to volunteer here. My bill qualifying liquid biomass as renewable energy helps us fight climate change.

Corporate interests have made that increasingly difficult due to their influence in campaign financing. I will not accept contributions from corporations or special interests. This uniquely ensures that I will support legislation which is best for the voters. I have the knowledge, experience and skill set to promote legislation beneficial to the people of the 36th District.
