State Float Rubric

State: ______Due Date: January 31, 2013

1. Gather information about your state and fill in the graphic organizer provided. You will be given time to research in school but you may need to do some research at home.

2. After you have completed your research, take an empty box (the size of a carton of copy paper) and cover it with decorative paper. Now imagine your box is about to be entered in a parade as a float that represents your state!

3. Decorate the box with the information you gathered about your state. You can use pictures, typed information, or small objects. There is no need to add wheels to the box-we won’t be rolling the floats!
