  • Original dates 5/12-14 changed to 5/6-7 due to House being on vacation
/ No Monterey members present. Have just completed 1 year as Committee.Pres will work with to establish Chapter designation. Will be 14th Chapter for CalENA.
3rd year of work: IRB almost ready (Jan 2014); In Dec tool evaluation with 4 hospitals; target feasibility study by March 2014

Goals for 2014:
  1. Begin strategic planning process for 2014 (should be approved by Dec 31)
  2. Complete State Council Achievement Award Application
  3. Make sure all Chapter Officers are updated on National website
  4. State Council Annual Report survey will be sent out in late November via E-mail to all state council presidents. Deadline to complete is January 31st

CNA opposes due to labor concerns – is the role of these medics taking jobs away from RNs?
Kara Davis will submit white paper from UCD.
Multiple concerns regarding nurses scope of practice/assessment.
LIP committee supports.
Oversight would be by LEMSAs. Wash DC also looking at this concept. Trial studies underway in CA.
