Body

Round 9: Ch 1 (this doesn’t count as a stitch), Sc into the same St. Into the next st put 2 sc. *1 Sc, 2 Sc into the next* repeat this all the way around. You will end with an increase. Sl st to the first Sc made. (39) sts.

Round 10-11: Ch 3, Dc around. Sl st to the top of the Ch. 3. (39) sts.

Round 12 (armholes): Ch 3, Dc into the next 2 sts, Ch up 5, counting from the Ch. up stitch skip 5 sts. Dc to the 6th St. Dc into the next 26 sts, counting from the stitch up again, skip 5 and dc to join to the 6th St. You will have 4 sts in the front of the chest and a total of (40) sts. Sl st to the top of the Ch. 3.

*Tip for making the armholes* BEFORE YOU CONTINUE TO ROUND 13, PUT THE SWEATER ON YOUR PET TO MAKE SURE THE ARMHOLES ARE SUITABLE FOR THEIR SIZE. IF THE ARMHOLES ARE TOO SMALL/TOO TIGHT PLEASE ADD MORE CHAINS. IF THE CHAIN IS TOO BIG, SIMPLY REDUCE A CHAIN OR TWO*

Round 13: Ch 3, Dc into the first 3 sts, when you reach where you created the chain, work into the chains putting 1 dc across and make sure to work 1 dc around including the other side where the other chain bridge is as well. Sl st to the top of the Ch. 3. (40) sts.

Round 14-16: Ch 3, 1 Dc around. Sl st to the top of the Ch. 3. (40) sts. After round 16, F/O.

Back of the sweater

Counting from the Ch. 3 (where we finished off), count 9 sts. Reattach your yarn and Ch. 3 (this Ch. 3 will not count), dc into the same st, and dc across into the next 27 sts. (28) sts.

Working in rows now, Row 2-7 Ch 3, turn and Dc into the same st as the Ch. 3, and put 1 dc into every stitch across. After Row 7, F/O.

Around the Sweater

Attach your main color and reattach using your favorite joining method. Ch 1, Sc into the same st, and put 1 Sc around the whole sweater. When you reach corners, put 3 sc. After you make your way around, sl st to the first sc. F/O and weave in your ends.

Arm Sleeves

Attach your yarn to the arm sleeves, chain 3, and put 1 dc around. You want to have an EVEN number when you end. No matter what number you have just make sure it is an even number if you want to put the “ribbed” effect on your pet’s sleeves. Sl st to the top of the Ch. 3. Round 2: Ch. 3, fpdc into the next st, dc into the st after. *fpdc, dc into the next st* repeat around. You want to end with a fpdc, if you do not end with that st, recheck your sts, count your sts, or see if you missed a St. After; Ch. 1, Sc into the same st, and Sc around. Sl st to the first sc. And F.O and tada! You are finished.
