JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title:Women’s Business Center Manager Grade: 9

Core Area:Financial Stability Employee Type: FT/Reg

Department:Small Business DevelopmentFLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to:Business Development Manager EEO Class:2 (Professional)

Position Summary: Coordinates the activities of SNAP’s Women’s Business Center, including staff and volunteer direction and supervision, program development and implementation. Coordinates the activities of partners, maintains program within budget guidelines, tracks in-kind contributions.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities – Financial Services Manager:

  1. Manages program contract, including monitoring outcomes, ensuring that contract requirements are met, and preparing thorough reports in a timely fashion.
  1. Develops and maintains working relationships with partners and vendors to enhance the quality of program outcomes and ensure that they run smoothly. Provides input and expertise to assist in developing ideas or resolving issues.
  1. Develops and coordinatesprogramming in order to ensure that training and resources are vibrant, relevant to the needs of women business owners, and take advantage of all our community has to offer.
  1. Teaches business related classes and provides individual coaching for business owners and those interested in starting a business.
  1. Facilitates program planning, development, and evaluation, seeking staff, client, and outside organization input regarding new services and revisions to existing programs. Assist with necessary policy and procedure development.
  1. Researches additional funding opportunities to support the Women’s Business Center, seeking grants and contracts that promote the center’s mission.
  1. Implements communications, public relations and marketing strategies to recruit participants and promote program throughout Spokane County. Works with WSU to provide information and programming to remote sites whenever possible.
  1. Recruits and coordinates volunteers to staff the center and provide programming, providing job descriptions and clear expectations, training and recognition in order to obtain excellent results with volunteers.
  1. Establishes clear expectations for performance, supports employee development, and holds employees accountable for their work performance, processes and results.
  1. Completes reports to funders, filing, and data collection and entry in an accurate and timely manner.
  1. Provides support to other SNAP Programs when need arises.
  1. Works with coworkers and volunteers to promote a positive, respectful, and productive working environment, while protecting client confidentiality and dignity.
  1. Within the context of the stated principle job duties, serves as an ambassador of SNAP’s mission and values.
  1. Provides excellent customer service at all times as well as helps to grow the customer service culture within the agency.
  1. Completes assigned projects and performs related duties as needed or situation dictates.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and three years’ experience in business ownership or management.
  • Preferred: MBA, 5 years’ experience in business ownership or management and business or individual counseling and training experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to empathize with and advocate for women, as well as low-income and vulnerable people, and to maintain confidentiality with personal information
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and personal interaction skills, with emphasis on working with a multi-cultural client population as well as with partners and funders.
  • Knowledge of local social service, financial service and employment-related organizations and resources.
  • Knowledge of business development process and business management best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to keep organized and detailed records
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, data entry and query, and internet applications

Training and Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, insurance, and personal vehicle for Agency business (mileage reimbursed)

Work Environment/Physical Activities:

Work is generally sedentary, performed in an office environment. Some local travel required. Domestic travel, typically by air, may be required for meetings and seminars.
