SCO Web Applications Log On Procedures

Each time you log onto the SCO website, you will be required to enter a (1) password and (2) an answer to a challenge question.

User name and password

The State Controller’s Office provides employees and vendors with a unique user name and password. This information is generated when an employee is hired, has a name change submitted in IPOPS, or when a vendor is given access to the Vendor Remittance application.

The employee’s user name and password are mailed to HR/Payroll department, and the vendor’s user name and password are sent directly to the vendor.

User names are not case sensitive and usually contain a space between the first and last name.

Passwords are case sensitive and must be a minimum length of 8 characters and contain a combination of alpha and numeric characters. Users are encouraged to change the generated password after logging on for the first time and to follow best practice policies for creating and maintaining passwords.

Challenge question and answer

In addition, you will need to establish a challenge question and answer. The answer to the challenge question is not case sensitive. Spaces are allowed. Special characters are not allowed.

For security and authentication, your answer to this challenge question will be required each time you log on.
