We have all sorts of wonderful things planned for the month of May. We are still talking about planting and seeds, which have been really fun! We will be reviewing our five senses, our numbers and letters. We are beginning to get ready for our Graduation 2017! This month we will be celebrating dinosaurs and beach days. We will be serving Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets for our extended care lunch and watching a movie about dinosaurs “Land before Time” for our extended care movie this month.
We will begin our month with the celebration of Cinco de Mayo on May 5th and serving nachos for snacktime!
The weeks of May 88h through May 19th are dedicated to Dinosaur weeks here at Happy Times. We ask the children to bring in their favorite dinosaur (with the child’s name labeled on it). We will discuss how the dinosaurs roamed the earth, the names of different dinosaurs, and how they lived! On May the May 18th & 19th Mt St Happy Times will be erupting @ 10AM for the whole school to see. We invite the parents and all siblings to come and see our volcano erupt and get a history lesson on how the dinosaurs once roamed the earth.
We are providing a “fun lunch” for the children attending extended care in the afternoon session. This month, the date will be on Wednesday, May 10h. We will be offering a “Dino Chicken Nugget Lunch” for everyone to enjoy, attending the afternoon extended care program. Along with the nuggets are, a piece of fruit, bottled water and a little dessert! (In order to be a part of the extended care program, please be sure to enroll your child)
This month, we will be viewing the movie “Land before Time!”. the date will be on Wednesday, May 23rd @ 1:15PM. We will provide a small snack to go along with the movie. If you need to pick up your child during the movie, please let us know in advance, so that we will have your child ready to go, so that they can leave quietly as the movie is in motion. (In order to be a part of the extended care program, please be sure to enroll your child)
On the week of May 22nd we will be celebrating our Summer Birthdays! This year for the first time, we have so many children with summer birthdays that we will be splitting up the celebrations over a few days!!
Our last day of extended care will be Friday, May 26th. We will be closed on May 29th for Memorial Day. On May 30th & May 31st we will be celebrating Beach Days at school. We will make Happy Times into a carnival atmosphere along with great snacks to Eat! We will need parents to come in and help on both days.
Our Starlite Room children are beginning to pick out songs that they would like to perform for our graduation. This coming week we will begin our rehearsals preparing us for the big event. During Group Time (10:30 -11:30) We will be up in the auditorium if you need us! The dances are a surprise so if you need to get your child early, please let us know in advance so we will have them downstairs and ready to go.
June 1st will be our end of the school celebration, with our graduation @ 10AM. Please make sure your children are wearing their “Sunday Best”!! Our invitation will be going out this week!
Well that about does it for this year. We want to thank you for sharing you great children with us. We valued every moment and have some wonderful memories to take along the way!!
