Star Valley Rotary serves through International Projects

Members of the Star Valley Rotary Club have made several trips to Romania to improve the conditions of Labor and Delivery in a rural hospital. Romania has the highest mortality rate on the European continent.

Our project has delivered basics such as blankets, diapers, hats and burp cloths.

Medical supplies have improved care as medical professionals use the sterile gloves, stethoscopes, fetal heart doplers, and more, which Star Valley Rotary has provided (shown below).

The most important feature is the Educational posters which are now posted in Labor and Delivery rooms across Romania. Education improves the chances of mother’s and infants who receive updated care.

This is an ongoing project and 100% of funds raised for the project go directly to the project. Rotary members who accompany the supplies pay their own personal expenses.

WHAT IS ROTARY?

ROTARY IS SERVICE ABOVE SELF

Rotarians meet weekly for fellowship and interesting and informative programs dealing with topics of local and global importance. Membership reflects a wide cross-section of community representation.

Rotarians plan and carry out a remarkable variety of humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs that touch people’s lives in their local communities and our world community.

Rotary is the The Rotary Foundation, which each year provides some $90 million for international scholarships, cultural exchanges, and humanitarian projects large and small that improve the quality of life for millions of people. Rotary is widely regarded as the world’s largest private provider of international educational scholarships.

Rotary is PolioPlus, Rotary’s commitment to work with national and international health organizations on the goal of polio eradication. More than one billion children in developing nations have been immunized against polio through PolioPlus grants.

The Four-Way Test

From the earliest days of the organization, Rotarians were concerned with promoting high ethical standards in their professional lives. One of the world's most widely printed and quoted statements of business ethics is The Four-Way Test, which was created in 1932 by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor (who later served as RI president).

Of the things we think, say or do:

1.  Is it the TRUTH?

2.  Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3.  Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4.  Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

Star Valley Rotary
Serving Our Local Community.

The members of Star Valley Rotary raise funds to support important projects in our own community.

Each year we purchase and deliver a dictionary to every third grade student in the Valley. The dictionaries are kept for a lifetime by the children as a permanent part of their growing literacy.

A Scholarship is given to a Senior of Star Valley High School by our club. Each month, two seniors are selected as Students of the Month and are awarded $50 at a weekly club meeting, and have the opportunity to apply for the annual scholarship.

Through the application process, students are selected and awarded these scholarships at the Annual Awards evening at the end of each school year.
