This year’s heifer and goat show will be held at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center at 26032 Newt Road, Albemarle, NC 28001. This will be our fifthlivestock show hosted by the Stanly County Youth Livestock & Poultry Council and in partnership with the Stanly County Agri-Civic Days.

  1. Deadline for entering heifers and goats for the Stanly County Classic is Friday, August12th. Entries can be mailed to: NC Cooperative Extension, Stanly County

  1. All animals must be at the show facilities during the above mentioned check-in times to allow for class scheduling and weighing of the goats and sheep.
  1. Health certificates are not required for the Agri-Civic Days heifer and goat shows but any animals deemed unfit may be disqualified at the discretion of the Stanly County Youth Livestock Council.Any animal or exhibitor showing signs of contagious diseases (such as club lamb fungus, ringworm) will NOT be allowed to show and may asked to leave the show grounds immediately.
  1. All animals will be matched to the scrapie identification numbers and registration or tattoo numbers listed on the registration forms. These identifications are required.
  1. Exhibitors may enter only 2 animals per species. (Example: Goat show: 2 does or 2 wethers or 1 doe and 1 wether.)
  1. The following showmanship classes will be offered: PeeWee (under 5 years of age as of January 1, 2014),Cloverbud (5-8),Junior (9-10),Intermediate (11-13),Senior (14-19), and Senior Plus (20-21 years of age as of January, 1, 2016).Senior Plus is not part of the circuit.
  1. Cloverbud showmanship classes are non-competitive. However, cloverbuds are allowed to show in the open breed/market classes.
  1. The 2016 Stanly County Youth Livestock Council Classic is an open youth show and 4-H membership is not required to participate. However as always it is required in order to participate in the showmanship circuit.
  1. All of our classes will begin with showmanship followed by the breed/market classes.
  1. This facility does not have turn-out pens so animals must be kept at trailers when not in-hand. We also do not have access to livestock washing facilities but will have ample drinking water to offer animals at any time.
  1. Restroom facilities will be available and food will be available for purchase on Saturday only through vendors of the Agri-Civic Days event. There are no fees required to enter this event.
  1. Any exhibitor not following the rules may forfeit their premiums.
