Memorial Scholarship
The family of Stanley and Phyllis Evans is sponsoring a scholarship fund to honor their memory. The annual scholarship of $400.00 will be awarded a graduating senior of Greenbush/Middle River High School. It is hoped that this award will provide a lasting remembrance of Stanley and Phyllis Evans who supported the school and community through their ownership of The Greenbush Tribune. Also, the Evans family wishes to recognize a young person who has demonstrated leadership and participation in a variety of school, church and community settings.
Selection Process
The recipient will be selected by a scholarship award committee comprised of a school board member, a teacher, a member of the community, and the high school principal serving as an ex officio member.
Procedures
This award is based on scholastic achievement, community service and career goals, not financial need. Eligibility is restricted to graduating seniors of Greenbush/Middle River High School. Preference will be given to a senior planning a career in education or journalism. The award committee will make their selection and announce the recipient of the award at graduation exercises. The award will be issued to the recipient when the completion of his/her first quarter or semester at a post-secondary institution is verified.
