BE HEALTHY / A range of health and fitness information, workshops and activities is provided to members of the community which promote healthy lifestyles and healthy eating
Refreshments and meals provided within the educational setting reflect cultural diversity within the local community
Members of the community are consulted about health education programmes and health care provision offered at the educational setting to meet local needs
STAY SAFE / Safety in the community is promoted among children and young people through the PSHE and Citizenship programmes
Community links with local services, i.e. St John Ambulance, fire service, police, are maximised to inform children and young people about safety at home and beyond
Signposting to further support and information regarding safety from harm, domestic violence and crime in the community is available to children, young people and families
ENJOY AND ACHIEVE / The richness and diversity of the community is utilised as a valuable resource to extend learning opportunities for children and young people
Children and young people have the opportunity to enjoy joint learning and recreational activities with members from the local community
Out-of-hours learning and recreational opportunities and facilities are provided within and near the educational setting for members and groups of the local community
Children and young people experience a range of community-based learning activities which involve them in joint initiatives and projects with other educational settings

MAKE A POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION / Children and young people have the opportunity to contribute to and participate in a range of community activities which involve volunteering, fundraising and, community care, including local, national and global environmental projects
Members of the community are engaged in decision-making about ECM provision to meet local needs
Children and young people, through their involvement with the community, develop skills and knowledge about responsible citizenship
ACHIEVE ECONOMIC WELL-BEING / Community figures and local businesses are invited into the educational setting in order to impart and share their experiences of economic enterprises and/or support learning and well-being initiatives through sponsorship
Opportunities are sought for children and young people to engage in supervised and organised enterprising activities in partnership with local businesses
Any income generated or profits made from community charges for using and accessing facilities and out-of-hours learning and recreational activities is ploughed back into the educational setting’s budget to fund future learning and well-being activities
