Position Description:
Administrative Minister
Central Southeast Ohio Association
The Administrative Minister will serve as the chief administrative leader of the association maintaining contact with association departments, nurturing the association’s official link to the wider church, and approve ministerial search profiles in accordance with the requirements of the national setting of the UCC.
Specific Tasks for this position include:
1. Providing staff contact with the Department of Preparation for Authorized Ministry, the Department of Church and Authorized Ministry, and the Department of Congregational Vitality especially as related to authorization processes, required ministerial trainings, and authorized minister support & review actions.
2. Managing the approval for the creation, editing, and updating of ministerial profiles in accordance with the requirements of the national setting of the UCC.
3. Nurture the association’s covenant with the Wider Church in Ohio, the national setting of the UCC, and ecumenical partnerships by attending necessary meetings, maintaining collegial relationships with leaders in other settings, and seeking new opportunities for partnership within and beyond the denomination.
4. This position will NOT be expected to represent the association at any services of the local church including ministerial authorizations or services of installation as these functions will be assumed by members of the association departments.
5. While regular communication with association members and church is expected, and while digital media may be used to distribute this content, this position will NOT be expected to administer the digital media presence and communications of the association as this administrative function will be contracted out on an as-needed basis by the Association Council.
The Administrative Minister will report to the Association Council and will receive job performance feedback at least every six months via both written and oral forms. The Administrative Minister is expected to report to the association at all regular meetings of the association and to engage in continuing education opportunities appropriate for the position.
The Administrative Minister position shall be filled by an Authorized minster and will be considered a Designated call for 15 hours per week and will retain the flexibility to work in another setting or vocation. The Administrative Minister will be called for an initial term of one year, and the successful candidate may apply for any future CSEOA position and/or be considered for term extension or indefinite term placement in the future. CSEOA will be open to creative approaches to any vocational, geographical, and/or scheduling challenges for this part-time position.
The salary and benefits package will total $28,500-$31,500 negotiable upon experience.

Position Description:
Association Pastor
Central Southeast Ohio Association
The Association Pastor will serve as the chief executive officer of the association maintaining a pastoral relationship with ministers of the association, representing the association at local and regional events, nurturing relationships with local churches, and providing a presence on behalf of the association at critical times in the life of the local church.
Specific Tasks for this position include:
1. Serve as the Pastor to Pastors in the association providing prayerful presence to support the work of ministerial leaders throughout our fellowship.
2. Represent the association whenever possible at important ceremonial occasions of the local church including anniversaries, major staff retirements, key social justice actions, and other events of significance.
3. Build strong, healthy relationships with the local churches and members of the association by visiting parishes, connecting with local church leadership, and being a vocal advocate for our shared covenant together.
4. This position will NOTbe expected to represent the association at services of ministerial authorizations or services of installation as this function will be assumed by members of the association departments.
5. The Association Pastor will be called for an initial term of one year, and the successful candidate may apply for any future CSEOA position and/or be considered for term extension or indefinite term placement in the future. CSEOA will be open to creative approaches to any vocational, geographical, and/or scheduling challenges for this part-time position.
The salary and benefits package will total $38,000-$42,000 negotiable upon experience.

Association Office Administrator
Central Southeast Ohio Association
The Association Office Administrator will serve as the primary administrative support person of the association fulfilling day-to-day secretarial functions within the association office,prepare mailings and materials for meetings of the association and association council, fulfill limited administrative financial responsibilities in conjunction with the association bookkeeper and Treasurer, and maintain updated listings for association mailings, pulpit supply, authorized ministers & MIDs, and similar reference documents.
Specific Tasks for this position include:
1. Open mail, answer & return phone calls, fulfill daily and weekly correspondence, office filing, and other secretarial work as necessary and assigned.
2. Prepare mailings and materials for meetings of the association and association council ensuring that appropriate notice if given for association meetings and that proper meeting notice requirements for the association are fulfilled.
3. Fulfill limited administrative financial responsibilities in conjunction with the association bookkeeper and Treasurer including signing checks as necessary and assisting in documenting reimbursements.
4. Maintain updated listings for association mailings, pulpit supply, authorized ministers & MIDs, and similar reference documents ensuring that each document is updated at least monthly and that any submitted changes are promptly reflected.
5. While regular communication with association members and church is expected, and while digital media may be used to distribute this content, this position will NOT be expected to administer the digital media presence and communications of the association as this administrative function will be contracted out on an as-needed basis by the Association Council.
The Association Office Administrator will report to the Association Council and will receive job performance feedback at least every six months via both written and oral forms.The Association Office Administrator is expected to report to the association at all regular meetings of the association and to engage in continuing education opportunities appropriate for the position.
The Association Office Administrator position may be filled by an Authorized minister or a lay person with significant experience in church settings and will be considered a Designated call for 10 hours per week and will retain the flexibility to work in another setting or vocation. The Association Office Administrator will be called for an initial term of one year, and the successful candidate may apply for any future CSEOA position and/or be considered for term extension or indefinite term placement in the future. CSEOA will be open to creative approaches to any vocational, geographical, and/or scheduling challenges for this part-time position.
The salary and benefits package will total $14,400-$16,000 negotiable upon experience.

Head of Staff for Specialists
Central Southeast Ohio Association
The Head of Staff for Specialists will serve as the manager of specialist positions within the association, ensuring that specialist positions are filled and that persons in specialist positions are working well with core staffin fulfillment of their working specialty.
Specific Tasks for this position include:
1. Ensure that specialists know their position requirements and maintain clear work role boundaries within their target specialty providing feedback and guidance where necessary and appropriate.
2. Lead the search process for filling vacancies in specialist positions as they arise.
3. Advise association leadership of possible innovative changes to staffing that may better fulfill our future story network model of leadership and propose specific changes if necessary to help realize those changes.
The Head of Staff for Specialists will report quarterly to the Association Council and will attend all regular meetings of the association being prepared to speak to questions of the association membership if posed.
The Head of Staff for Specialists position may be filled by an Authorized minister or a lay person with significant experience in church settings and will be considered a contract staff position. The Head of Staff for Specialists position will be compensated for 3 hours work per week with the understanding that seasonality and work flow may allow or require a wide variance in worked hours from week to week. CSEOA will be open to creative approaches to any vocational, geographical, and/or scheduling challenges for this part-time position.
The salary package will total $5,400-$6,000 negotiable upon experience.

Position Description:
Association Registrar
Central Southeast Ohio Association
The Association Registrar will serve as the registrar of the association compiling year-end reports and fulfilling the traditional registrar duties outlined below.
Specific Tasks for this position include:
1. Arrange with local churches for the installation or recognition of pastors called by them.
2. Issue, with the approval of the Association Council, a certificate of transfer to any minister leaving this Association.
3. Be responsible for keeping a complete record of the ministers of this Association, their ordination, reception, transfer, and other related items, and shall submit such information to the President of the Ohio Conference and to the Secretary of the United Church of Christ.
4. Sign all certificates of: Ordination, Installation, Privilege of Call, Commissioned Ministers, Licensed Ministers, and all other certificates provided for in this Constitution and Bylaws.
5. Be responsible for securing the signature of such other officers as are designated on the certificates, for the delivery or forwarding of these certificates and for forwarding records of these to proper individuals and agencies of the United Church of Christ.
6. Be responsible for keeping a complete record of the local churches in this Association showing the names and addresses of the ministers and officers of the local churches and shall upon request submit such information to the proper individuals and agencies of the United Church of Christ.
7. Receive the records of ministers of other Associations and shall deliver the records of ministers of local churches in this Association to other Association executives and to his/her successor in office.
8. Have the right to send communications to ministers and local churches of this Association.
9. Compile and submit all year-end reports for the association including reports to the national setting.
The Association Registrar will be considered a Specialist position, will report monthly to the Head of Staff for Specialists, and shall meet with the Association Council upon request.
The Association Registrar position may be filled by an Authorized minister or a lay person with significant experience in church settings and will be considered a contract staff position. The Association Registrar position will be compensated for 2 hours work per week with the understanding that seasonality and work flow will require a wide variance in worked hours from week to week. Especially during busy seasons, such as year-end, this position may require significantly more work load than 2 hours per week. The successful candidate for this position is expected to independently manage work flow flexibility, accounting for fluctuations in seasonality within the position. CSEOA will be open to creative approaches to any vocational, geographical, and/or scheduling challenges for this part-time position.
The salary package will total $3,600-$4,000 negotiable upon experience.

Covenantal Elders Specialist
Central Southeast Ohio Association
The Covenantal Elders Specialist will serve as the key leader of the Covenantal Elders Program and will convene, oversee, advise, and lead the filling of vacancies within the program.
Specific Tasks for this position include:
1. Convene meetings of the Covenantal Elders as most effective but at least quarterly.
2. Ensure that every association church has a relationship with aCovenantal Elder.
3. Provide accountability for Covenantal Elders in matters of financial reimbursement and follow-up with local church visits to ensure healthy programmatic function.
4. Lead the filling of vacancies in Covenantal Elder positions as they arise.
The Covenantal Elders Specialistwill be considered a Specialist position, will report monthly to the Head of Staff for Specialists, and shall meet with the Association Council upon request.
The Covenantal Elders Specialist position may be filled by an Authorized minister or a lay person with significant experience in church settings and will be considered a contract staff position. The Covenantal Elders Specialist position will be compensated for 2 hours work per week with the understanding that seasonality and work flow may allow or require a wide variance in worked hours from week to week. CSEOA will be open to creative approaches to any vocational, geographical, and/or scheduling challenges for this part-time position.
The salary package will total $3,600-$4,000 negotiable upon experience.

Position Description:
Pastoral Excellence Specialist
Central Southeast Ohio Association
The Pastoral Excellence Specialist will serve as the key leader of the Pastoral Excellence Program and will recruit pastoral excellence group facilitators, oversee the formation of pastoral excellence groups within the association, and lead the filling of vacancies within the program.
Specific Tasks for this position include:
1. Recruit facilitators for individual pastoral excellence groups.
2. Ensure that every authorized minister has a relationship with a pastoral excellence group and that transitions of ministers between groups are made thoughtfully, prayerfully, and with the development of the minister in mind.
3. Encourage the participation of Members in Discernment in pastoral excellence groups.
4. Administer all funds of the Pastoral Excellence Program including the receipt of monies paid in and the distribution of stipends, reimbursements, or other monies expended.
5. Lead the filling of vacancies in Pastoral Excellence Program positions as they arise.
The Pastoral Excellence Specialist will be considered a Specialist position, will report monthly to the Head of Staff for Specialists, and shall meet with the Association Council upon request.
The Pastoral Excellence Specialist position may be filled by an Authorized minister or a lay person with significant experience in church settings and will be considered a contract staff position.
