Philosophy

Dear Parents and Students,

On behalf of the studio, I want to take this opportunity to extend a warm and sincere “welcome” to each of you.

If you have been with us before, I wish to express my gratitude and thanks for your support throughout the years. If you are a newcomer to the studio, we want you to know that our policies are intended to insure that every student receives our utmost attention and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

“Dance” is the most physically and mentally demanding subject within the Performing Arts. Our professional staff, through their knowledge and love for dance, hope to inspire in our students not only dance technique and style but the determination, dedication, and self discipline that is needed to acquire the rewards in the dance education. It is our feeling that when our students have left the studio, whether it is to pursue a career in dance or not, that he or she has developed a stronger character through self confidence, awareness of themselves physically and mentally a greater sense of responsibility, and a better appreciation of the arts.

We ask that you take a few moments to acquaint your self with our studio policies. We are pleased that you have selected the “Dance Factory” and dedicated to provide you with a pleasant learning experience.

New This Year-

1. Registration-

Any student starting classes after Dec.1st will be ineligible for the recital.

Dress code will be strictly enforced. Leotards, tights and correct color and style of shoes will be required for all classes by the 3rd week of class. Copies of the dress code are available at the studio. If a child is dressed incorrectly they will be allowed to watch class only-not participate.

2. Recital-

Students performing in the recital must be wearing the required color of shoes for each dance. If not, they will not be allowed to perform. The requirements are posted on the costume charts in January.

Class Divisions 2014-2015

Main dance division-Recreational ages 3 and up

Classes in this division are designed for students looking for a recreational program with flexibility in scheduling. Advancement depends upon a student’s progress, not age. Dancers looking for even more training may join the intensive division program.

Intensive division-This division includes the Dance Attack competition team. Students enter this program through audition or invitation. Students who are physically able, technically qualified, and dedicated to a serious course of study receive this designation. Ages, classes, and subjects vary greatly, as does training at different schools. Parents nor the number of years or age will not determine class placement in this program. Programs and class schedules are determined and designed for the individual students needs and these may vary.
