JOB TITLE:Planned Giving System Officer for St. Vincent’s HealthCare (PGSO)

JOB SUMMARY:Plan, direct and implement planned gifts to support St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation of Jacksonville. This position is responsible for acquiring, identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donations from philanthropists by performing the following duties personally.Work in conjunction with the President/System Chief Development Officer, Staff and Board to achieve measurable results for planned gifts. A strong drive to be successful as a team and as an individual, coupled with a deep personal commitment to expand St. Vincent’s mission. The Planned Gifts System Officer will carry a portfolio of up to 175 planned and major gift prospects.

C.Key Quantifiable Indicators:
- Establish and implement goals and objectives for Planned Gifts and some MajorGifts for the
support of St. Vincent’s HealthCare (St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside and Southside, St. Catherine Labouré Manor, and St. Vincent’s Clay County.)
2.Implement the gift strategies and manage the process to ensure that goals are obtained.
3.Coordinate with Board members and volunteers to assist in implementing planned giftsfund raising objectives and services for theSt. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation.
4.Work closely with President, Director of Donor Services, Planned Giving Advisory Council and Committees to ensure success.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
A.Education:Four-year College Degree. Proven track record in securingPlanned and Major Gifts. CFRE or FAHP certification preferred.
B.Experience:Five years plus in fund development with the ability to communicate with people from all walks of life and all ages. Must demonstrate successful planned and major gifts experience including identification, cultivation and solicitation of five- and six-figure gifts from individuals. Ability to close gifts is essential.
C.Specialized Skills:
- Experience in either management or as a key support person in successful major fundraising campaigns, planned giving campaigns or in significant capital campaignprojects.
- Ability to communicate with managers, volunteers and donors through oral and written materials.The Planned Giving Officer will write proposals and communication pieces for the Foundation.
- Proficiency in using donor research and management software – especially Raiser’s Edge by Blackbaud and Crescendo. Professional ethical conduct is stipulated by the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral media.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting directly to the President/System Chief Development Officer, this position has the responsibility to:
1.Execute Planned Giving fundraising activities for St. Vincent’s HealthCare including St. Vincent’s current Clay CountyHospital Capital Campaign.
2.Achieve planned gifts fundraising goals for planned giving campaign.
3.Collaborate with development team and volunteers to identify new prospective donors.
4.Carry out personal planned giving cultivation activities and leverage other tools available for increasing prospect understanding and loyalty.
5.Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, close, and steward a portfolio of donors.
6.Interface with St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation’s Grants Manager to coordinate proposals and solicitations of family and corporate Foundations.
7. Interface with St. Vincent’s HealthCare Foundation’s Financial Manager to assure accurate donor records, giving history, and acknowledgements.
8.Prepare committee reports for areas of responsibilities. Prepare proposals, letters and articles for Foundation fundraising efforts.
9.Assist in planning giving campaign activities, e.g., seminars, dinners, special events, etc.
10.Take active role in donor recognition program, such as the Order of the Cornette, to keep donors/members informed and involved.
11.Maintain records, reports and files as required.
12.Attend meetings as required. Participate on committees as requested.
13.Enhance professional growth and development through seminars, conferences, etc.
14.Develop and maintain personal contact with prospects to develop their interest in planned gifts and to provide information concerning the utilization of gifts for St. Vincent’s Foundation.
15. Implement and market techniques that will create a climate conducive to planned giving and increase the number of planned gifts and estate commitments.
16. Provide leadership for volunteers and Board Members to effectively organize, train and utilize them
in accomplishingspecific program goals and objectives.
