JOB DESCRIPTION – CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Job Title:Chief Executive

Reports to:Trustee Board

Place of work:Stonepillow, Hunston Road, Chichester, West Sussex

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree level (or equivalent).

Desirable

  • A recognised management qualification

Knowledge

Essential

  • A sound knowledge of business planning
  • Knowledge of supervision & appraisal systems

Desirable

  • A sound understanding of practice and policy in the voluntary sector.
  • Knowledge of local government structures
  • Knowledge of welfare reforms

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Experience of working with a Board of Trustees or directors.
  • Experience of developing and implementing strategic planning.
  • Experience of business planning and monitoring, developed from a clear vision and strategic direction
  • Skills and experience in building alliances and motivating others in pursuit of common goals.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring a senior team
  • Proven track record of securing the stable financial management of an organisation.
  • Experience of contract work negotiations.
  • Experience of overseeing operations to quality standards and identifying / addressing organisational risk.
  • Experience of Health and Safety and risk management.
  • Experience of controlling and working within agreed financial targets.
  • Experience of leading a multi-functional team.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with the homeless or those with mental health and/or addiction problems.
  • Experience of securing grants, donations and sponsorships from statutory bodies, trusts and other organisations.
  • Experience of running a successful charity
