NOTICE OF RACE
1. Rules:
1.1. The Organizing Authority and host is the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.
1.2. The regatta is a J/24 Class Association sanctioned event in conjunction with the local J/24 Fleet #169.
1.3. The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing and the 2010-2011 International J/24 Class Rules except as changed by the Sailing Instructions.
2. Eligibility & Entry:
2.1. Competitors (Owners and Helmsmen) must meet all ownership and J/24 Class Association membership requirements and must complete all aspects of the registration process. All boats/crews must conform to current class requirements and be available for spot check if necessary.
2.2. The entry form may be mailed with a check or faxed along with a credit card number for the fee payment to the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. A registration form is available at the end of this Notice of Race.
3. Fees:
3.1. The entry fee is $65.00 per boat which includes launching (Hoist), 2 days of racing, Dinner Party Saturday Night.
3.2. Entries received after Friday November 25th will be charged a $15.00 late fee. Registration will close at 1900 Friday December 2nd, 2011.

5. Sailing Instructions:
5.1. The Sailing Instructions shall be available at Registration.
5.2. An Official bulletin board for announcements will be available at SPYC docks.
6. Inspection & Measurement:
6.1 The regatta shall abide by the J/24 class rules of sailing with the following modifications. Rule 2.5.1, measurement certificate will not be required to race.
7. Racing Area:
7.1. The racing area will be Tampa Bay, Florida, East of the Municipal Pier.
8. Scoring:
8.1. The Low Point scoring system RRS Appendix A will be used modified such that when six (6) or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores minus the boat highest score. One race shall constitute a series for purposes of scoring.
9. Awards:
9.1. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 boats finishing the regatta.

11. Launching and Rafting:
11.1. All yachts will be wet sailed during the regatta and shall be launched by 1800 Friday evening. For the purposes of launching, a hoist is available at the St. Petersburg Sailing Center. No docking will be allowed at the Sailing Center during event due to a weekend small boat event. Please make arrangements to have boats in water and moved to main docks by 1800.
11.2. Docking will be at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club main docks. The Main Docks are located on the western shore of Tampa Bay in the central yacht basin, immediately south of the Municipal Pier. The telephone number is 727-822-3227. E-mail address is:
11.3 2008 SPSC Rules require sailors and/or coaches to make special arrangements with the waterfront director Shawn Macking, 727-822-3113 or via e-mail waterfront-director@spyc.org for loading and unloading, parking and loading trailers. Vehicles, trailers and boats left at the SPSC more than 48 hours after the end of an event may be towed at owner’s expense unless prior arrangements have been made.
11.4 Competitors who are not members of SPYC or SPSC must sign a Sailing Center Liability Waiver Agreement for hoisting and retrieving.

12.1. SPYC guest cards for competitors and guests may be obtained at the SPYC front desk on presentation of a Visa or Master Card; cash cannot be used for payment at any time while at St. Petersburg Yacht Club.

14.2. Driving South on I-275: Turn left on I-375 (Pier exit), continue east to Beach Drive. Turn right on Beach Drive, left on Central Avenue to guest/valet entrance.
14.3. Traveling North on I-275: Turn right at I-175 (S. Bay Dr.) and continue to Bayshore Drive. Turn left on Central Avenue. The parking garage (guest/valet) is immediately to the right.
14.4. From Tampa International Airport (TIA): Exit airport following signs to St. Petersburg. Continuing south on I-275 turn left on I-375 (Pier exit), continue east to Beach Drive. Turn right on Beach Drive, left on Central Avenue to guest/valet entrance.
14.5 Short term storage for out of town boats call Mark Liebel 941-809-6410. Storage available through Mid-Winters.
