Background

St Michael’s College has a growing reputation as a Centre of excellence in Christian ministerial training and offers both residential and non-residential training for ministry in an ecumenical context. The College functions under the overall guidance of Managing Trustees and operates in partnership with the South Wales Baptist College and the School of Religious Studies at Cardiff University.

This is an exciting time to be involved in the College as St Michael’s had an excellent inspection report in 2009, recently launched a vibrant new website (www.stmichaels.ac.uk) and will spend £1 million this summer on transforming the College buildings.

The College is the Provincial College of the Church in Wales and as such is heavily involved in a range of provincial ministry projects, including facilitating the Church in Wales Vocations Initiative.

St Michael’s College is also currently engaged in important discussions with the Ministry Course at Bangor (MINICAB) with the aim of exploring how these two non-residential courses may work together and develop an integrated strategy for training across Wales. It is expected that the new Dean will take the lead on this development for the College.
